Found a FB.... can anyone now point me in the direction of hotels in the NW that I could use in the daytime and ideally pay cash?

Travelodges have early checkin for £10 extra from midday, and Best Westerns are a 2pm checkin.

Look out for the deals, given the time of year, many are cheap enough you could book the room for two nights cheaply enough.
