I'm pretty sure the bible frowns on sex outside marriage but I'm no expert. Besides who follows the rules these days? Since God stopped smiting respect for it had fallen a lot, so I guess it really depends on what you want to believe, choose the bits you like and ignore the rest

A Christian couple were on First Dates recently. The guy said he wanted to save sex for marriage but didn't give a theological explanation of why. I think the woman felt the same way but didn't say. She certainly gave the impression that her life before she became a Christian was "bad" in her opinion. He gave the impression that he was willing to accept her despite that, even at one point said that she was more interesting because of it  .
There was certainly some sexual tension between them and innuendo. It made me wonder what they view as sex and just how far they would go before they felt they'd had sex outside of marriage. |

As far as I am aware, every Christian denomination takes the view that the only valid form of sexuality is within a monagamous marriage.
Consequently, I have never understood how one can be both a swinger and a Christian. |

I reckon you need to look at the whole cannon -wars are started when people decide which parts of Christianity to adhere to -after all, Christianity is just a branch of Judaism -as far as I remember from Father Mathew and his missionary of wandering hands, Christ proclaimed himself King of the Jews did he not? |

Would say it is for each individual to determine if there is a conflict in their own mind. My personal view is that it shouldn't be incompatible, but then I am not churchgoer. |

If we are going to get pedantic over the whole fact vs fiction thing in the bible we may as well ignore the whole book -but that would really mess up the Op's Sundays now wouldn't it? |

We all have conflicts in our lives because some of the things we do or have done have damaged others. I think few people who call themselves Christians would say they were 100% following any teaching. It's only hypocritical if a swinger suggests that others are sinning in some way by being a swinger. |
