It might be worth asking each individual guy that does this to you to get the perfect 'answer'.....

i don't - am always honest

they may scare police horses, but they are recent and they are me !

same goes for the age thing - don't see the point in making yourself fit a profile that you aren't

i had a friend who met a guy who's profile stated he was 48.

when they met, she said he looked older so decided to delve a bit - turns out he was 66 !

now 18 years difference is a bit of a stretch by anyones imagination !

Talking about body types, what does fabulous on here mean? It seems to cover from one extreme to the other. Right?

"Talking about body types, what does fabulous on here mean? It seems to cover from one extreme to the other. Right?"

I take it to mean 'very overweight' but I've also seen it interpreted as 'my body shape is fantastic'

If body shape / physique is important to you, then to avoid any confusion, I'd say ask to see a body pic before arranging any meets.

yes, but it's always a boon when they put average build and they turn up like adonis

or when they put average cock size and then produce something that could double up as a draught excluder any day !

Individual perceptions of body size perhaps ? One person may consider themselves curvy, others may look and say 'fat'. After all, anorexics have a distorted view of themselves as fat

Perhaps if they had a "weight & height" column on the profile (with given ranges), however to keep it in the spirit of the site it should be based on forum users. So if for example you are very skinny you get "pauly90 sized" and if you are a hobbit you get "Soapy sized" (Soapy-Size me........thats it I am gone.....)

There's a very slender forumite who has "fabulous" on her profile. It's how people see themselves.

See curvy is another definition that can mean a lot. You can certainly be classed as curvy as you have a lovely bottom and boobs that make for wonderful stroking and licking, but you're also reasonably slim too, so which do you go for?

I can understand this causing confusion.

There's no way I'd put ten year old pics on this site btw, at 24 I was skinny as a beck rat and weighed under 10 stone, which for 6 foot 1 is extremely slim. Now I'm glad my metabolism has started to slow tbh as while most of my friends are starting to get the old beer gut I can finally build the body I wanted at 24! About time too...

Its all about personal perception. I've seen many profiles whereby people have described themselves as good looking and when I've looked at the pictures I don't think they are. Doesn't mean to say they are ugly just because I don't agree with their assessment.

The thing I don't like is when people make statements like 'I think I'm fat but others say I'm not'. Just say what you think you are, don't let others make decisions about how to describe your own body. Either this or its a needy ego boasting statement. Like the size 8 woman who says 'I've put on soo much weight cos I've eaten a chip today'.

My body shape is curvy which is what I've put on my profile. I don't really care what anyone else wants to class me as, curvy is what I am

The obvious solution is to put the following on profiles as mandatory details:

BMI, height, weight, dimensions (inside/outside/around the outside!), heart rate, hair colour/coverage.

Then insist on weekly pics taken with a copy of a recent newspaper.

Alternatively we'll just have to trust the scruples of the average Fabber ...yikes!

I say I'm "average" but I'm more muscular than a lot of the "atheletes" on here, even for a 50 something old bloke.

If it massages peoples ego's to think they are something they're not, let them get on with it.

This is fantasy to a lot of people, so maybe that's where the truism lies?

As far as I was concerned "Curvy" didn't quite cut it, and they didn't have "Bin bag full of yogurt" as an option, so I had to plump for "Fabulous"...

See curvy is another definition that can mean a lot"

ie never understood what curvy means on here i have seen women from a size 8 to 18 to 28 class themselves as curvy

To me curvy is slim with shape not a polite word for fat

and what i really hate is guys who have curvy on their profile, curvy just isnt a manly description is it

now i agree with that because beauties in the eye and all that but body shapes not, i have seen women on here bigger than me who have athletic on the profile, now im sorry but thats not down to personal perception someone whos my size or bigger just isnt athletic built

I think its that the possible choices are a bit more limited for men. (Slim, athletic, average or large.) You have to be slim to use that on your profile, 'athletic' implies a fairly gym-fit body type, while large says 'fat' to most people. Hence 'average' is the one most use. I put myself as average, (though I could possibly scrape into the athletic category), as I believe that is most accurate.

I think it is down to perception of self which can differ from what other think of you. As I personally dont mind larger people (I am more interested in their wit, banter and sexual confidence) it is irrelevant to me whether the pictures are a bit outdated. Having said that, if the picture AND profile are a "blatant" distortion of a person, I feel I would wonder what else they might lie about?

People say they are athletic.. yet thet are an athletic sumo!

So go with that.. lol

Always ask for up to date pics, and if you want to say you'll only meet toned/althletic/muscular guys.. ask them do they have a six pack

If they have a keg, then you know to stay clear

I look on it the majority of the time as profiles and descriptions of oneself in journalistic terms, an element of truth with lashings of embellisment.

Athletic and sporty could mean anything really. A rugby player, male ice skater and darts player are all sportsman but have different body types.

Curvy is a word that is bandied about. I don't believe you have to be slim to be curvy. Curvy to me means bigger boobs, a smaller defined waist and larger hips, the rounded bottom, the hourglass figure. Its a shape and not a size. I have also seen women describe themselves as curvy when they are very slim with small boobs and waist and hips being similar in size, that to me is a boyish figure. Not many catwalk models are curvy.

I have also seen very big ladies with larger boobs but no defined waist or hips and flat bottoms, big thighs, legs similar size all the way down. They are big all over, but they aren't curvy in my opinion.

There is nothing firm and hard about my body, if guys are looking for a female bodybuilder then I couldn't apply. I am a big girl but I do have a shape. I could never describe myself as slim, that would be a blatent lie.

I've seen the term 'a real woman' used. Now All women could take this literally and say, well what the hell am I then, I'm living and breathing. But I take this to mean a figure like the ladies in the 50s/60s, the hollywood starlets of old, I guess curvy women, Diana Dors types with a feminine edgea, long hair, girly types. The type of women you saw in your mums catalogues. Not many women worked out and weight trained etc in those days.

We want to describe ourselves in a positive way if we see ourselves in a positive light. How many times do we go on about negativity and if I see a profile which says 'I'm not attractive but am kind hearted' it puts me off, not because I demand physical perfection, but because they are negative.

A true representation of me would be curvy with flabby tummy and big arse but there is only the word curvy on the drop down menu

Whenever people put rugby player physique I wonder who they're expecting to turn up? Shane Williams? Martyn Williams? Jason leonard? Courtney Lawes?

Hence the need for recent pictures

It's not just the men who try and deceive. Women are just as guilty. Not wanting to stir up a hornets nest but there are loads of profiles, male and female who post pics of themselves that make them look slimmer or don't show their true size :S

Men will say athletic and only post cock shots. When you look at them you can clearly see extra padding around the base of his cock :S (Noticed from when I had a couple's profile and was arranging GB's)

Women will put fabulous or average then only have a boob shot with their arm going under their boobs, not holding them up but hiding their belly.

I don't see the point in it. If you're overweight there's no point trying to hide it cause if you do meet someone you'll only get found out! :s

Same goes for really skinny people as well. Some have a tendancy to put athletic on their profile. I know peoples perseption of skinny, average, large, athletic etc will vary slightly but come on! Some people are just trying to be deceitful.
