I saw someone on Fab that this is a swinging site and not a sex site.
I'm confused. Could someome point out the difference? I appreciate that swinging has a strong social aspect whilst I guess sex sites (whatever they are) don't. |

I understand the social side of it but I'm not really into it ...I like chatting etc on the night of the meet but I'm not into the whole club scene and socials...for me personally and this is just my view i can socialise with people at the gym,nights out,classes etc away from here....so for me all that doesn't bother me...I understand people going to socials for bdsm chat or s&m as it's a complete lifestyle thing but when people aren't in to those types of play and go to socials is it not the same as socialising away from the site.....I joined the site for something different but I'll be honest I have more luck away from here lol. |

That’s because you are not interested in socials or getting to know someone and building a bit of a connection. There are many on here that are like you so you should be able to meet people who want the same. Doesn’t appeal to me though as I like the social aspect as much as the sexual side. |

Years ago when i first joined it was very much a swingers site..
Singles were looked down on and married people looking for a bit on the side had abuse hurled at them (i know they still do but back then it was a lot worse)
Nowadays the boundaries of what a swinger is have broadened somewhat and the site is more inclusive of everyone which is how it should be imo |

you can get as much into the site as you want to... if you like the community side and the socialising then for them it is a swinging site....

We find the site is both reassuring in that we feel like we are in a community of people with similar interests, but we haven’t come here to specifically make friends. We have found several people that we have really clicked with which has been great, but our main use of this site is to see who goes to particular Clubs and hopefully to meet with them and if all the planets line up, have fantastic sex with them.

Also, why is there this debate about whether Fab is a swinging or sex site? The way I see it they're one and the same. We find it almost impossible to quantify what this site is as it means/represents something different to every user. One person's sex site is another person's social site, is another person's dating site, is another person's amalgamation of all the above! The way we see it, as long as respect, politeness and dignity are the main tenets when instigating contact, then it works for us whatever we decide to use it for at that moment.

Any red blooded single male using this site as a sex site must be pretty bloody frustrated. There are far richer pickings to be had elsewhere.
I enjoy the forums and that’s about it. My dating/sex life reliably comes from elsewhere*... with the occasional fab meet interspersed here and there.
*dating 25-35yo professional women certainly puts this place into perspective. They’d be weirded out/disgusted if they knew I was on here, so I don’t tell them about it .
I guess it’s the pursuit of something new and different that keeps me here.

I think that originally the founders probably set it up for the swingers who love the lifestyle in mind.
Slowly it's becoming more of a sex site and eventually I can see swingers leaving for a more lifestyle orientated site or the founders trying to be stricter with people joining.
