Hi,
I've been on the 'Fet scene' for a few years now, and travel to other Cities for Events. The furthest I've gone is Wales (I don't drive) but wherever I go, I'm guaranteed to bump into many friends who also travel around to different Events.
Is this the case within the swinging scene? Do people travel to good clubs/events/socials? or tend to stick more with what's going on locally?

I've travelled to Glasgow, Wales, all over the country from Brighton to Newcastle for socials or munches.
It's part of the reason I love the scene so much, met people I never would have in vanilla life. Gives me a chance to see old friends, and meet new ones.

I've always enjoyed the travelling to other areas, I've also made some great pals along the way, and there's just something so exciting about getting on the train and buggering off to soeplace new
I like the idea of getting more involved in the Swinging Socials and different clubs, I'm hoping I can get my house sold next year, and be able to afford to get around more, but like the idea of spotting 'familiar' faces when I start doing that. so am glad to hear it's also the norm with swingers generaly |

I currently organise the Newcastle Social events, and I have people who contact me and who attend from all over the UK.
Its amazing to meet so many amazing people and get to know others on the scene, it means if im ever in their areas too that hopefully there will be a friendly face when Im there

We have travelled all over the world to clubs and events on the scene, but still frequent our local clubs whenever we get the chance as there will frequently be someone there we know to say hi to.
A great many people on the scene, don't go to clubs local to them because they fear of meeting someone they know from their area, we hear this argument all the time, which in theory means the odds are they could meet someone they know anywhere at the end of the day if so many people travel further to clubs for fear of being recognised.
Of course others just like going somewhere new, because every club on the scene is so different from the next and exploring a new club is always half the fun! |

near the sounds of the wimborne quarter jack! |
I`ve travelled the country from Plymouth to Edinburgh for socials. Only places that have been a bit thin on the ground for socials for me have been East Anglia, Kent and the North East. I once spent all day going to a house party in SW Essex, spent 2 hours there but had to leave before "anything" started On another occasion I drove from home in Dorset to St. Albans to visit an erotic art studio. I had arranged this as an "add on" to an event near Milton Keynes which I had to pull out of but didn`t want to pull out of my own "function"!
When I started on this scene, socials were "must do" events and people would seeingly go through hell or high water to get themselves or other people there. I`ve known people drive miles out of their way to give lifts to others, clothes lent/donated, money lent/donated and hotel rooms shared as well. |

Am going to add that on one occasion at a social in Wakefield, my friend from Plymouth was talking to a guy who was moaning that he had to come all the way from Huddersfield for this social! He was gobsmacked when my friend told hime where she had come from! |

Newcastle and Gateshead |
i am also one of these people who attend events all over the country.... but we are very much a dying breed.... from scotland, to wales, to northern ireland hopefully at some point next year!!!
it is one of the side effects to local chatrooms that people don't travel anymore and won't look outside of the local areas.... |

We travel around too but it tends to be within the London area, as well as our local clubs. We have been on a weekend to Blackpool and stayed at a swinging hotel.
We would certainly travel to a good venue, its exciting to go to different clubs, I'd get bored with the same old all the time.
I do think that the social side of swinging is brilliant, especially for someone who hasn't loads of friends to go out with regularly, you get to meet lots of people, get invited away for weekends and people will always make you feel welcome. The outside vanilla world may mock us, but us swingers are a friendly and welcoming bunch |

So I've noticed
I instantly found this to be the case on the Fet scene too. Immediately felt more at home than in Vanilla land.
It was through the Fet scene that I was introduced to a couple of swingers, and was instantly drawn to this... I never really mixed the 'sexual' with my kink, and I'm ever so pleased to have met those folks who led me here.
It's been an education too

Could not agree with this more Have now got a great circle of friends from swinging.
Get to a certain age and my friends were settling down, married, children etc and I still wanted to play. I love going to socials and clubs. |

Whenever I travel I try to visit another club and just lately everywhere I have been, aftereight, partners, Isis and even Spice in Lanzarote, there has been someone there I recognised!
Also virtually every week at the club someone or two or three or four .... travels from afar to come along.
I think that its not more than the fet scene as plenty travel to events, its just that there are more swingers around than kinky fet people. But definitely true that people often prefer to travel rather than visit local in case they meet someone they know (neighbour, ex schoolchum, boss!) lol, its all happened at clubf, and once you have got over the initial horror/shock/fear everyone seems to enjoy themselves!
