Did anyone here see it? What were your thoughts on it? We thought it was mostly pretty good.

Hey,

Yes- I watched it and enjoyed it. He was respectful with his questions but as usual did probe where he thought he could.

I did feel for the shy husband who wanted to join his wife but she wouldn’t let him.

What did you think of their situation?

We thought that only the fem with two bf's living with her looked happy. They seemed to have it sorted. Although why did they all need separate duvets? At least she could expect fun before and after shift patterns!

The others were just divorces waiting to happen. That poor husband (the shy one) felt really sorry for him because he clearly just wanted to be part of a relationship but she locked him out.

Yes- he was painfully sad and Louix picked up on that. I don’t know if I agree about the lady with the two boyfriends and three blankets- the newer boyfriend admitted he felt he wished he was enough for her and at times the other man had digs at him. He seemed shyer too. I was curious as to whether he seemed a little more subservient?

You may well be right... He was declared as a bit sexually inadequate.

I enjoyed it. Judging from some of the reaction online there's been a mix of people saying how it shows poly to be bad and other people saying how it was positive. So it seems pretty balanced.

I mean it's still telly so you can't judge people's lives from this tiny window into them, and there's a bit of 'point at the weirdos' going on, but it was entertaining and it's nice to see polyam getting highlighted in the media.

Lol.... good bait

But I don’t see it like that

I see a polygamous lifestyle as quite the opposite... harmonious for the majority of the time if everyone is happy with the logistics. Similar to any good ‘main stream’ relationship here communication, loyalty, respect and trust are paramount

Really good thoughts and good to see some positivity towards poly which seems the dirtiest word on here. We are very pro poly with lots of friends leading poly lifestyles though for us we are more interested in the sex part (we do need to love you at least a little bit though) and increasingly kink. I thought it was a good programme and not too 'look at the freaks' but there was that element. I thought the same about the three blankets and felt for Jerry. In our experience no one meets their other in the home they share with their nesting partner so that was odd for us. If we ever became fully poly i would hate it to be happening while i was in the house peeling spuds or something. For myself i'd want to be on a date too. For us the food party part was the best bit. Jake

I think the young couple with the baby on the way seemed pretty sorted though the guy clearly had a justifiable wobble over the pregnant lady starting up with another at that point in their lives. He seemed to come round though. Poly can be tough but then so can mono. Just like this site, it can be crap with heaps of time wasters, fake profiles etc but then you make a great connection or have really interesting convo on the forums and it reminds you of the good reasons why you put the extra work in.

Best journalist ever man great programme, see some points that are good, think in those particular cases it was an escape for the woman and the guy in both relationships as i feel the shy husband and the woman on the other side wernt the happiest, however i do see how these relationships could work just everyone needs to accept and comit

A lot of couples who move into Poly set these type of boundaries up, which are totally legitimate as they often begin (and continue) in a hierarchical way. Sometimes they move away from these boundaries as experience and logistics take over. Certainly that's what happened to me.

I thought Jerry was a broken man until he confessed he would enjoy a threesome, or even just to watch his wife. Jerry wants to fulfill his dreams of being a cuck

I think that they are so open that if she truly didn’t love him, she’d leave

I do feel sorry for the children though - Jerry’s daughter seemed fine and well adjusted, but the other children...

I don’t know she’s pretty open but Gerry is just doing whatever she says no input whatsoever...I may be reading too much into it but if she was asked to stay in the other guys I think Gerry would be on his own...Yea all the kids are def going to grow up thinking “what the fucks going on”

I've no idea. Well i guess its the loving another thing. Also in poly circles if you mention swinging its often looked down upon. We find it a nice fence to sit on

You have to remember too that all the time spent with them will have been edited into a one hour programme so obviously they'll put together the bits that will make people go OMG!!!

Yes. The power of the edit. Our experience of poly friends is very different to those depicted on the programme.

I watched some of it but then fell asleep. It's kinda how me and my man live but we don't label ourselves, we just live our lives, you know?. It all started with me liking to watch my man with other women and joining here. Before we knew it we had another female member of Fab moving in to live with us. She had fallen on hard times so we invited her to come stay with us and she's been here a year or more now. It just works for us.

Each to their own and all that we say.

They called the baby Elliot which is thought of as a boys name. Why not something neutral? I felt sorry for Piper having to listen to her parents and Joe talking about their sex life.
