Hi all
I like a good date but it seems many just want a fuck. Now I’m not looking for love or a relationship but doesn’t anyone love meeting for lunch and drinks anymore?
I used to frequent Nottingham a lot and meeting a nice woman on a Saturday afternoon for food, flirting and frolics was amazing!
Now I’m planning a visit to London in November, I know longer live in the UK, and I just get this impression no one loves a great date which could lead to hotel fun.
Ladies... tell me I have this wrong

A date is significantly different from a meet.
A date refers to courting.
Not disputing anything as some are looking for that.
A lot however are looking for satisfying erotic pleasures and we'll a sandwich and a latte just doesn't do that |

Isn't "a meeting that may lead to hotel fun" just another way of saying you're looking for sex especially if you're only visiting an area.
Speaking personally I always want a social first without the pressure of anything sexual to check there's an attraction and a joint interest. You'll be surprised how different people look to their photos or say what they think you want to hear.
A lot of people on here just want play time and fair play, othere like me, don't want to be a notch on a hotel bed post for a visitor |

I think, even in this day and age, thatif someone pays for something for women they feel obliged to have sex. his can put a lot of pressure on women who aren't sure if they fancy the bloke or not.
So yes dating probably won't work in these circumstances. |

If that's the case no one would ever date!! A date is the first chance to meet the person for real. And a woman can pay on the date as well, does that pressure the man? |

I think it’s rather sad that the internet has eventually, killed the art of seduction. Another factor is the dynamic of socialising has shifted due to cheap supermarket alcohol, people don’t “go out” in the same way anymore.
Be it no strings sex or a potential relationship partner , I used to have to rely on my personality, and (ok)looks to pull a lady. It was fun and disheartening in equal measure, but I certainly did ok, I loved the thrill of the chase.
A lot of men nowadays haven’t the first clue, they rely on dating sites , and lets be honest, you can’t sell your personality over a dating site.
“Make a woman laugh, and you’re half way into her knickers “ was my MO, and it’s not really possible to do that unless you’re face to face. |

Seeing as men have never been socially pressured to feel obliged to a woman who pays for them doubt it. |

You cant convey much personality on any social media people just go off pics. Even the birds who are attractive but nobody used to chat them up, all have like 10,000 followers on Instagram etc these days. |

I agree op. I'm not looking for anything serious but someone to occasionally go out for dinner with/cinema/theatre. Been on many dates and they all just looking for hook up(despite their profiles saying otherwise) |

"Once a year when Forest are at home and I need a few bevvies to watch us play "
Come over to the dark side and watch Notts County instead - you might need a bit more than a few bevvies to get through it though |

I love this aspect. I like that I can meet someone and it doesn't always revolve around play. I make friendships first and foremost. The play is just a happy bonus. I need to be able to enjoy their company on a social level also, so for me, it's definitely not dead... even though it's not 'dating' per say |

I couldn't agree more. It seriously sickens me to no end to see my generation and those younger than me get deeper and deeper into social media and painstakingly-curated online/Instagram profiles whilst neglecting real-world interactions with people they would be shallow enough not to give a chance to online. I'm no longer on social media any longer and it always saddens me when I'm on a night out and I see how many people are just out with their phones rather than people around them.
I'm a whole package. Not just something that can be condensed into a few well-filtered and edited photos on Tinder or some 300-word bio on a dating site or even Fab. Doesn't work that way. Yet I'd probably be mocked for being old-fashioned.
