Sending videos (securely)

Does anyone have advice on how to send a video to someone securely online? Recorded our last meet and we want to send a copy to the person we met with. What's the securest way of sending it online (would rather do that than burn a DVD and posting it through the mail)?

Is Dropbox completely secure?

Dropbox is fine, as is OneDrive. Don’t forget to send it me too

the right frame of mind -London

It's not the sending that's the problem -it's the disseminating thereafter that usually causes all the grief

As my IT friend keeps on reminding me nothing digital is secure so you have to assume that if you put it online the NSA or the like might be able to watch it but do nothing about it. Not sure about Dropbox. Whatsapp supports end-to-end encryption which is pretty good although FB will shameless abuse your metadata and have been pretty careless with security. Ditto Google. Apple has a good public stance on protecting user data and probably have some kind of file sharing service.

Yup, leaks at either end are probably most common rather than in transmission.

No need for receiver to install the app.As a receiver you get alert through text message with active link. Click on the link to start downloading your file or video.

Easiest options.for beginners

Sender can set the link to remain active for months or weeks.nothing come closer.Best for pro and beginners

You can take steps to make sure any cloud or file transfer service is secure

Download a free zip archive program caked WinRAR or 7zip. It will help compress any file you send but you can also encrypt that file with your own password (compressing to zip, not rar or 7z file).

Once done upload or email the file to echo ever you want and then send them the password to un-encrypt in a seperate message.

When they open it Windows own zip system will prompt foe that password, no need for the receiver to install those programs.

If it's protecting a video from people doong things to it once you've sent it then there isn't much to stop that. SnapChat does a reasonable job with only letting only the recipient play a video a limited number of times then deletes the file from the server but again nothing is full proof
