We keep finding so many accounts with verified status which are clearly fake accounts. It concerns me that the verification process is not being monitored properly, ie people are submitting a photo of themselves for verification, then upload different pictures to their profile for issuing out.

Or single males verifying single women accounts which are just the same guy essentially verifying himself.

It's true and it is worrying. There are some odd ones out there. I find you usually them out over a conversation, as they get bored easily or start asking for pics. It's a buzz when you connect with genuine people and it's only after a while that this happens. The fakes ruin this site to a degree. Get a life or go to a site full of other fakes, plenty out there.....

It takes time for admin to check them out and look into things their view may be different to yours. You wouldn't be happy if someone reported you as fake and admin banned you just on their word without looking into things.

Because it's 99% of the time single men, don't get upset by facts

The verification system is just one of many things we should do to safeguard ourselves. It could be better, probably, but ultimately we need to take care of our own safety.

And as someone whose account was temporarily frozen until I photo verified (I would have done it sooner if not for the fact that I was recovering from a nasty injury which made the logistics a little challenging)... Action does get taken. (I'm not criticising admin, these things happen, and I get why a youngish bi single female account with no pictures and no veris is automatically suspicious to many)

Don't understand why they do it?

If you meet in a club or social it doesn't matter what crap they put on their profile, you can suss them out or like them easy

In our experience, the verification system gives false security.

Just have your own checks in place to combat the fakes.

Not sure how to tell if a person with one verification is fake other that being cautious and look for the usual signs !

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******
