What things would you like to see in a message?

We would send you a message but you don’t like large hairy people so that rules out Mrs Absolutebeginner |

Clever one liners are very welcome. Means I don’t even have to open a message.
Get over ourselves. We ask for better and better messages that we still ignore, what’s anyone to do???
If someone messages us (this is the good people of fab I’m referring to) “hi there” and we look at the profile and think they’re nice, we reply. Someone could send fucking war and peace or a Shakespeare sonnet, the recipient looks at the profile and thinks “fuck no” and deletes it without so much as a wistful backward glance.
We need some perspective I think.

Personality for one... effort shown that you have read the profile and understand what we’re looking for, questions or being a bit flirty... but “hi how’s you”? God no...:

Agree with this one.You can use opening messages as a sift if you want to, or a stick to beat people up with.
A one liner with an interesting profile does more for me than a wordy opening message and no attraction on the profile.

The lazy type messages that annoys me, are question marks and chavvy text talk (bbe) (wuut) (yk) (nm). No real wording at all.
Long as the guy fits what I'm looking for, as shown on my profile, I don't mind short first messages. |

"You would be moaning more if you didn't get any messages at all "
Lol meow!
Actually no I wouldn't moan about that either. The sheer amount of time wasters (who seem to like wasting their time too), who message profiles of which they clearly haven't read, is astounding.
I'd rather no messages at all, then daily have to put up with such inconsiderate people. |

At last, a couple of people who have a real perspective. So refreshing. |

"I've been trying to chat with a woman but only get single word replies
"yes"
"no"
"nice"
"Mmm"
"maybe"
"Xxx"
"
That'd be enough for me to call it quits and not bother sending any further messages!
