I find these categorisations rather amusing that they are still used on Fab.
The history of Can travel / Can accommodate goes way back to contact magazines when you had to pay by the word. It was abbreviated to CTOA in most adverts.
The travel bit doesn’t necessarily mean you’re going to get on a plane and fly across the world to meet someone.
I generally suggest that if someone is not able to accommodate and doesn’t want to travel outside their area or certain mileage, that they still put Travel but clarify how far in their profile text. The same goes if they put neither, and do intent meeting people. I’ve seen some users who no longer meet and are only on here for the forums or chat room, state that they won’t travel or accommodate. |

This is great feedback. Maybe Fab should consider an active/not active option so those looking to meet can filter out those not here to meet or likewise those not looking to meet can find fellow chatters more easily! Rather than just the looking to meet now option. I could be looking to meet but nor straight away. |

"I use local transport but if you put can travel people think you mean every where "
Same for accommodating, every random on fab thinks you’ll put them up. |

It's the least helpful and informative settings option that's used on fab.
If you meet elsewhere, such as an hotel, it should state travel and accom, for example.
If someone wants to be vague etc, include a vague or not replied option.
Poor completion of these 2 options stop people from getting found by others searching and thus they miss out on messages and meets. |

"Cannot travel cannot accommodate teleporters to the ready? "
Some women do it to reduce the number of messages received as a large percentage of guys searching look for a woman woh can accommodate so if you remove the tick then less incoming mail without blocking people its the same though less effective for travel. People often have can't both so it dosn't look as though they are cheating.
Also if its a new profile the profile owner may just not have ticked those boxes.
I hope that gives you a plausible explanation for this. |

It means they will only meet locally. For example, if they live in Manchester it means they don't accommodate but will meet you at a Manchester hotel or at your home if you live in Manchester. |

Yeah, I got tired of explaining that I'm happy to travel to the other side of Manchester, but not to Kent. So, I can't travel. |
