Horrible accent

What would you do?

You get chatting to somebody on fab. You get along well, you have a good laugh and a bit of a flirt. You swap pics and spend time getting to know each other. You both fancy each other and it progresses to social meet.

You walk into the cafe where you have agreed to meet. He or she still looks very attractive to you and things look promising.

Then he or she talks and they have an accent that you really hate. Every time he or she speaks it is like fingernails scraping over a chalkboard.

What do you do?

This hasn't happened to me I am just thinking out aloud.

Tamworth

Not had that but I guess if it was that distracting and detracted from my attraction to them, which of course is about the full package, then it would be a no.

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else

Find something to stick in their mouth to shut them up?

I've had it where I've spoken to them first on the phone before meeting and it's put me off them. One guy rang me he was a big guy with a big build and sounded like a bloody woman on the phone, now I did actually meet him and thankfully in the flesh he didn't.

My ex husband had a feminine phone voice, weird.

The CF post code

I wouldn't reject a person because of something they have no control over.

That would be the Manchester accent for me, then again I can’t really talk about awful accents being from Wolverhampton. Thankfully mine is very mild!

Specs or contact lenses, jeans or trousers, jacket or coat, dye hair or not, different make up, change hair style - people change the way they look all the time.

So if someone has no control over something you wouldn't reject them I take that would include not rejecting someone who was a pre op transsexual then?

Here and There

I’ve had it when I’ve got on with someone brilliantly by message, but then when we chatted on the phone their voice put me right off. This has happened to me on here and with online dating. I’m beginning to think I’m too picky lol

I've rejected a couple of men after speaking to them on the phone.

Fickle? Probably.
