I was looking at some profiles and realised there are a number of things that stop me messaging people...probably rightly so, but how do you know?
For example, if a profile asks for an attractive person I wouldn't message them.
Likewise if they ask for fit, I assume gym body, and therefore don't message...despite being a long distance cyclist and long distance walker..hence fairly fit in the general term.
So, I was wondering what stops others from sending that first message? |

If they have listed what they're looking for and I don't fit their description then I steer clear, don't want to waste their or my time.
Also, got to admit, if they're really attractive I feel I'd be wasting my own time...sometimes do feel compelled to send something though, just to confirm they're out of my league!
I don't message people with 'angry' profiles either. |

I tend to read all profiles for likes and dislikes, sexual preference etc and if I feel we don’t match the criteria outlined in the profile I don’t contact them as wouldn’t want to waste anyone’s time

If they're bio is too full on and looking for full swap straight away. If they've just joined yet have porn-quality photos. If they're too close to home or too young or old. If they're too large or too thin. If we don't feel a spark from reading their profile....
We're pretty picky which is why we don't meet very often  |

If they are too far up there own arse, have cringe worthy photos of a minge the size of the Chunnel, do bareback orgies, grossly overweight or if I think they are false, ie a bloke being a Dickhead pretending to be female or a couple.
That means I send out about one message a week!!

Some names put me of straight away, some are just totally cringeworthy. Or if pics show dirty house or a cock over a toilet then im not interested at all! |

if they only do bareback,
if they are after a female to join them ( I am straight) ,
if they smoke,
if they have an athletic physique.. as a size 18, I would feel very self conscious,
If they want to meet me to tick off something from their bucket list. ( I normally go with thin girls, I fancy trying a fat bird !!!!)
A profile that tells me nothing about them
A profile with just cock photos.
However a well written message that shows they have read my profile and gets my attention, will sometimes mean that I will message back, so I can acknowledge they were interested in me.

Anyone who describes thenselves as good looking,handsome,very attractive etc..I like to decide for myself!

In a word, confidence.
To be more exact, poor self image and enough knock backs to make it ring true in my own head.
