Does fab monitor our messages??
We've just had a message disappear and I'm not comfortable with it.
I am an internet consultant and i understand how the algorithms work and I cannot say it's right.
It feels like some human intervention has happened.
Anyone else experience this?? |

"Is it possible that the sender or recipient deleted it?
...or left the site?
But I bet they can!!"
Oh they definitely can... But should they be? Legally they cannot GDPR |

I often wondered about the whole big brother watching and reading but surly it would stipulate that they have access to read and manage users message in terms and conditions? |

"Wouldn't delete it from our sent folder though would it?"
We've made a change so that messages from users who leave the site by deleting their account or who are suspended are removed from your (and their) inbox and sentboxes much more quickly (usually, near-instantly).
Scenarios where you may see this are where you're messaging a newbie (for example) who leaves the site, those messages will just "go" from your inbox and sentbox rather than staying with the "user no longer on site" tag.
We've made this change for a number of operational and practical reasons, one of which is that it stops users from joining with a fake account, sending abusive messages then leaving straight away while those messages linger on and cause harm/upset.

Well hopefully it's just a it of rubbish programming and not some fab employees reading our most sensitive communications and occasionally hitting the wrong button.
Ha ha ha... Bet it's the latter... Don't blame them |

I'd hope that fab does review messages, as it could help them to better manage and improve the site. They provide the site as they wish, without guarantees, subject to the laws.
Some people mention disappearing messages but i think it's a user misunderstanding of the site or the other person's action that likely causes it. |

There and to the left a bit |
Are the disappeared messages recent ones or old ones? Some older messages do disappear after a period of time to, I believe, keep server loads down.
Also older messages can disappear off the screen if you've had other newer ones since - they may re-appear if you delete the newer ones though.
If it's none of the above or other suggestions that have been made - might be worth dropping a note to admin to check it out providing full details of the date of the message, the recipient etc. |

What algorithms are these? You mean some sort of bot, I don't understand the context where algorithms have anything to do with admin deleting messages? |

Do someone cabt appreciate a facial expression without having a face pic on display? Odd
Does that mean I can't appreciate dick pics cos I haven't got a cock?
Peculiar. |

Moderators with full profile access can create serious problems.
Access of private face and play images.
Access of private social media usernames.
Access of site passwords.
Leading to, on another site, accessing of email accounts etc by unscrupulous Mods....
This site temporarily closed down resurfacing with un-moderated chatrooms and forums.
This was approx 10 years ago, before Fabs appeared. Moderators control/access must have now changed ?
Never use the same passwords people.
If it is still a problem this post will soon disappear as will we

Every now and then we've had a message that disappears straight away. We just put it down to the filters doing there job.
What would the admins have to gain by reading messages and how much time would it take and what size team to go through every message. Admins aren't paid by fab they volunteer to moderate and investigate profiles that are reported.
