I see so many status updates requesting peoples profile be read
I've had it before where some one hasn't read mine of skipped something from it. But I wanted to put it to the forum how many times do you get this |

Its a filter for some to work out who is actually interested in them as an individual and who just plonks on a profile and messages regardless of what it says no a profile. |

It's the obvious questions they sometimes ask that make me roll my eyes  for example 'How old are you?'
It's bad enough if it's a question that's at the bottom of your profile but things like age are at the top and show up in the user search anyway....

Never really sure who reads status updates anyway. I get very few responses to mine though.
And.. I always read profiles.
My own experience is that the women are much less likely to read profiles than I am. Most respond purely on the basis of my pictures |

No most obviously don’t. Although mine is quite long but that was to try and reduce the amount of messages! Main thing is the height. Not interested in anyone under 5ft 11 but nobody takes any notice! |

Most seem to read mine. I would say a very high percentage of first messages refer to it. I think it's when people have long dull profiles the reader tends to skim read or just give up. |

The ones that ignore what our profile says and message anyway,tend to be the same ones that put up forum posts complaining of "rudeness" and their messages going unanswered or deleted unread. |

Overall for us I would say it is probably about 50/50 who read and who don't.
However if it was based only on single guys I guess it would go to around 80/20. The 80 being the ones that don't. |

If I'm going to send a message to someone, I always make sure I read their profile thoroughly. It's not just good manners, but you at least find out more about them, and after all, it's considerate. |

What is acceptably long? Some write war and peace, others only one line.
First rule of thumb I find useful is if you're waffling and adding nothing more by way of information then stop.

Some do it because they think they're too nice to have to read it and think that you'll just reply even though they clearly haven't read it and some are just too lazy and have no intention of reading it. Lexi |

I always read them rarely get messages as not meeting at the moment. But some of them clearly have not read that part when I do get the odd one.
