Kissing former lovers

So I was at a vanilla (non-sex) party of friends and over the course of the evening I met quite a guy who I had slept with years ago. As soon as we met we hugged and exchanged a couple of kisses on the lips. I thought nothing of it as almost always when I meet a former lover, I like to kiss it's just a sign of affection. These weren't ultrasexual tongue-lashing type of kisses but proper full kisses on the lips.

But then 2 people separately asked me if I was this bloke's GF or were we in a relationship etc and had this APPALLED look when I said no were were just friends.

So this got me thinking how sexual we regard kissing here in the UK. I know in some European countries kissing on the lips is quite common even among friends.

What do you folks feel? Do you kiss friends or former lovers on the lips?

I never kiss friends on the lips either. And I’m not from the UK, not sure what other countries this is common practice, but certainly not anywhere in south Europe or even France.

Some friends and some former lovers, yes. Depends on the person, really. It's not something I would push on anyone though.

Yes is true in Europe we kiss on lips with friends sometimes, but depends, we need to be very good friends. We don't thinking as a hot kiss and we touch tongue just lips, is more about a respected kiss between good friends

Two ex wives, one I would happily Bury somewhere, one who is a very close friend to both of us, and we both give her a kiss when we meet.

So completely down to individuals and circumstances.

And yes people are still shocked we are such good friends, especially if we turn up at the same club. But their problem not ours.

When I said former lovers I meant former sex partners not ex-husband type of thing. I won't kiss my ex either I hate him. But people I"ve slept with in the past if I meet them socially I frequently kiss on the lips
