Well
I don't even have a boyfriend, but actually would love two lol
The idea of polygamy really appeals to me for many reasons. Having said that I wouldn't be soo keen on my bf's having another girlfriend!
Does that mean I'm selfish or greedy?
Is there a club or society or anything that you can join to make friends and discover more? Very interested xxx

Oh ok
So I'm obviously learning, just googled it and it is Polyandry.
I realise people will have strong views on this and obviously that's fine.

Yeah wasn't trying to be pedantic but if you advertise for polyandry then you're more likely to get people that want what you specifically are looking for. I'm sure there are men out there that would like it. |

It would be both. Polygamy is having more than one spouse, polyandry is having more than one husband. What most people mean when they refer to polygamy, having more than one wife, is polygyny. |

I stand corrected. In common usage though, most people would describe saudi Arabia as polygamy but two husbands would not be allowed. |

Me and the hubby are poly he has a girlfriend, I recently broke up with my boyfriend a few months ago.
Jealously is a big issue for both of us but we have to be honest and talk through it. |

Im poly.
My husband is nt. Not because I dont want him to be but because he does nt want to be.
Hemce the hotwife thing... However i prefer to have a regular partner I like and whom likes me rather then just random hook ups with strangers. Have been in 1 long term arragement...now have another blossoming.
I check with hubby constantly about everything and have to have his approval. The best bit is when we can all hang out together as friends x |

I think a lot of people here don't understand what selfish is.
If a woman has a desire for other partners and her man also does. Then it's selfish for her to endulge and not him.
There's nothing selfish about a woman looking for a relationship where she has other partners and they don't. They know the terms when they join. They are adults and can make their own decisions. |

Me and T fantasize about this quite often, to me it’s really erotic, the guy we talk about is a friend, we know he fancies T too. We talk about spending the week away together all 3 of equal, real Lovers. In real life prob wouldn’t work, but 100% love the idea. |

Could never prioritise two lovers equally, so it would be unfair in my book to claim to love them. One would have to lose out.
That would be very selfish of me. |

It can and does work for some people. So long as everyone is happy with the arrangement. It would be very difficult to find though.
There are different ways to be poly. I have previously been part of a triad with one guy and two women. We were both dating the guy but all lived together and I was friends with my "metamour".
There is always the option of dating two bi guys who are also dating each other and you can all live in a big happy threeway. |

I think the idea is you don't treat them equally, as your relationship with each would be unique and require different things from you.
I tend to think of it in the same way as friends, family, or children. The majority of people are capable of loving multiple people without reducing their love for others or loving one over another in none romantic relationships. For me I am capable of loving more than one person as each attachment is separate.
It definately is an issue for time management though. Especially if you don't get on as a group. |

I am only capable of loving one person at the time in the romantic sense. It's an entirely different proposition to other types of relationships for me. |

A former lover of mine was in a poly relationship and told me some interesting things.....
She was the second female to a existing Couple... she found it hard to fit in because the first wife made rules she had to abide by. It was very hard for her because the first wife was very jealous and made her feel like a outsider..
The guy in this relationship was a referee for both women and had to deal with both women’s issues daily... in the end my friend moved out because it was emotionally draining..
So for those looking to enter into this form of a relationship. It’s not all kinky threesome’s every night. It’s more work than a monogamous relationship... |

It's never really been found to work on any kind of scale. |

As Broken Brilliance said , it’s not necessarily selfish as everyone’s knows the score from the off . But , there are so many vulnerable guys out there who may enter into it saying they are happy with it when in reality they haven’t thought it through . Yeah you could say it’s their own fault , but it would still be shit for them .
But in reality , the op hasn’t even got one boyfriend at present , and is just putting the thought out there . Nothing wrong with that , but there’s not a chance I would be into that malarkey , not in a million years . I figure I’m worth more than that , and from what I’ve seen of poly relationships , there’s always a dominant party within it , and they get what they want . Everyone else has to confirm or move on . |

I believe it can work if each partner met , dated , and fell in love at the same time... so all would have a equal share.... |

I suppose being poly can be on several different levels of a relationship. I saw a guy who was poly. He knew I had several partners and I knew he had several partners too. He had one more serious partner but we didn’t all meet up. He was Dom and I saw him regularly.
It can work and doesn’t have to be live in relationships or married.

My hubby would love me to do this. He likes the idea of all being friends and me have the love and attention of two or more guys.
I don’t think it could work for me though because I think I would have a constant concern about both guys feelings!
I’d love to go on a few dates and see how that goes though. |
