Anyone else open up someone's profile and think "Fucking hell while you're writing that bio you may aswell write a novel!"
I know a lot of them are just to help keep all the fakes away etc but some of them are just like... Woah |

I prefer long profiles to the shitty, short ones.
'I'll fill in later' is a personal irritation, especially when they then pop up in forums whinging they can't get meets. |

Yeah I'll agree with that, especially if you see theyve been on for a week + |

Try to keep ours as short as possible but it's so tempting to add more, especially when we keep getting messages from guys who don't interest me (Mrs) cos it just makes me want to rant and add rules! But I just delete and ignore the fools who contact us despite not reading the profile! Not my fault they can't or won't read

Or the 'just ask:.
Err no. If you can't be bothered to make yourself sound at least mildly interesting then why the hell would anyone waste their time asking when there are plenty of hot blokes on here who do put the effort in. |

From a perspective of sending messages, I much prefer a longer more detailed profile. It gives me something to approach them about, I can pick points of shard interest or make a joke. |

"No I never think that. I’m more likely to see one line and click away. And I don’t give two fucks if someone finds mine too long or too tricky to read. It’s a useful filter.
V x "
Yeah I get that but some of them are like they've written out an essay for their college coarse work haha |

Indeed. If you think my profile is War and Piece (sic), the odds are excellent we won't get along. |

Mine is long but hopefully reading it save all parties time messing around in the long run. I want people to get a feel for me so then I know if we are talking they already have an understanding about me and are genuinely interested. |

I actually don't mind details longish profiles as I can tell somewhat how they come across, to a degree anyway. I'm not overly keen on the ones who massively dictate. Yes, state your preferences, but there's a fine line between doing that and coming across dictatorial. The ones who say 'I'm here for my pleasure not yours and if that's an issue do one' doesn't exactly umpire you to hit the message button or add to hotlist! |

I think it does not matter really . I prefer a long profile though .
Someone who takes time to think carefully about how they effectively’ sell themselves’ to other people is far more interesting to me than the ‘ I’m always horny meet at mine/ ours now bring sniff ‘ type ones . Short profiles in my experience are either desperate men pretending / gang bang parties or just general timewasters .
What really bothers me about long profiles ? Poor written English .
As pretentious as it sounds I can’t really get on with people who can not write woth thought and imagination ‘freely ‘ and correctly .
We just would not be af the same level and definitely would not get on . It is nice if people can stick reasonably to the rules of grammar and punctuation . We all have problems with literacy to one extent or another . I am not a perfect writer . However , if you are expecting someone to read what you have written it is only right that you write as well as you can .Polite even ? If you can not be polite how can you expect to get on with someone ?
Everyone can improve . That is what FE colleges and free literacy courses are there for .
Some of the written English on profiles is at a standard an 9 yr old would be in school .
At least a short profile written badly full of errors etc is struggled through to read quickly . So maybe something there in praise of a shorter profile
Who knows ?

I like a longish profile, it is helpful when judging potential compatibility. A good profile with a personalised message is a great introduction I think
If people think mine is too long, that’s no problem, we probably wouldn’t get on anyway |

My profile is rather lengthy BUT what im seeking is quite specific and to be honest, if you can’t put the effort in to read through it, we probably wouldn’t be a great match anyway. So it actually works great for ing out most! |

There and to the left a bit |
Given the choice of a long profile or a short two liner - the long one will grab my attention every time. Not only does it show that some thought and effort has been put into it, and give a decent "flavour" of the owner, but also gives you points to pick up on when messaging. |

most fundamental aspects |
Why use three words, when a hundred will suffice?
Mine has been criticised for being long. I don’t care, as I’d much rather that and connect with people who appreciate my openness, than to end up having a meet with no talk. Lots complain on their profiles about people not reading them, then send me a message demonstrating that they haven’t read mine.

We have a short profile, however a log profile doesn't offend us if it's interesting to us.
Sometimes it's nice to know a bit about the person before sending a message.
If somebody has "I'll fill it in later" I'm tempted to send a message saying the same! |

Mine is long, but even when it was shorter people didn't read it.
It says what i want it to and if it's too long for someone to read ,then no problem, more than likely it's a delete if they then message. |

Our profile is fairly long and detailed but we put a lot of thought into what we both are looking for and can offer. Hopefully it is a good representation of who we are.
For me personally, first impressions from a profile are all important.

Quite right!"
Are we talking zero tolerance or are a couple of omissions acceptable? |

Ours is longish, but all the information is necessary as it explains the way we play. We don’t wish to waste people’s time and likewise we don’t want to have our time wasted. I think a lot of unnecessary messages get exchanged when there is not enough information on a profile.

So a profile with barely a few words and no verifications tells you everything you need to know ....yes move on .
You don't need to write" war and peace " try to construct something beneficial for everyone |

I read the profile if I'm really interested in someone to check in case they state NO SINGLE MALES. If the case I sulk and move on! But that's why the profile is there. If at a glance a profile is a long list of rules and regulations, I'm sorry I don't care how nice you may be I haven't the attention span to read all that! |

I think a few paragraphs is alright. Aye it's a pain to see a nice photo click on it and read to get all the way to the bottom and that's where it says no single guys. But that all said if it wasn't a ratio of 1 woman to 4000 guys (maybe a over estimate) then I guess women and couple profiles wouldn't need to put so much into there profile to out the fakes. My thoughts is if a profile hasn't been photo verified after a week the site should delete that profile because it takes 2 seconds to do it and that would deal with the fakes who are wasting the site. |
