Do you avoid clubs or other events if particular people or groups are going to be there?

Nope, I have been to socials where there have been people I didn’t like but I was there to meet and chat with people I did like, that outweighs the bad people, they are easy to avoid

Yes, I've avoided socials in the past when people who've given me abuse have been there. It's bad enough walking into a room full of people you don't know without having to deal with that kind of shit.

There is one particular couple who we avoid at all costs. The woman is sneaky. I don't trust her...Mr. doesn't trust her and her husband really shouldn't trust her.

No I deliberately go to she if they have the balls to say it to my face rather than playing keyboard warriors.

So far no one's said a thing to me , Obe wouldn't even say hello at a social when I said hello to them.

"Do you avoid clubs or other events if particular people or groups are going to be there?"

Theres a few people we arent keen on that go to one of the clubs we go to. They create an unsavoury atmosphere so we avoid going when they are there. Its no big deal though.

I didn't used to but about a year ago, I went to a private party where a couple who I did not like went and the female of the couple kicked off and slapped my face due to being d*unk (and before you ask, No, I did not provoke her). since then, I know if she/they are going to a social or party where I am invited, its a no from me

So if you went somewhere where someone was you'd expect them to leave?! Why should they if they were there first?

All this behaviour is one of the reasons I don't publish lists for my socials.

Socials - we'd still go.

Clubs - sometimes we'll avoid one of our local ones if a certain couple or single fem is there and we're already undecided. There's no single guys that haven't took the hint that we're not interested

If there's a restraining order in place, which this sounds like, then yes it does. She has to leave, no questions asked, or she's commiting a crime.

Tough shit. Unless there's been a serious miscarriage of justice, she did something severe to get a restraining order issued against her. These are the consequences.

Rider, seeing as you know the situation and not allowed to be within 500 metres.... why pit yourself in a position knowing she would be there?

And if she was there first... it's YOU that should leave.

No matter what the story... you know about the exclusion zone and purposely put yourself in the situation where it would cause a scene... best way is for you to elsewhere.

Hence my saying "If there's a restraining order in place". If there is, then her freedom of action is restrained and she has to leave. If not, then the whole issue is moot.

It wouldn’t stop us, but there again how would we know if someone disliked us? We would like to think that we don’t upset anyone on the forums, we try to share our cake with most people and very rarely post negative comments.

I would never not go to socials or.clubs because of people I don't like. A lot of comments so far seem to indicate there is a lot of bad feeling and bitching with folk on fab. We have never once fallen out with anyone on here - wouldn't waste energies on crap like that. However many of comments in the forums say a lot about the personalities of the folk posting

Can't really say much as its against forum rules, Fridays aren't quiet, they are fabulous but a single guy behaving like this person would have been barred and thrown out on the spot.

Takes a lot to make me feel uncomfortable, in fact only happened twice in 10 years.

So I would avoid them like the plague, a few other couples we just don't get on with, but that's just normal life, just keep out of each others ways. Considering the size of the scene the number of completely incompatible people is incredibly small.

We went to a recent organised social and couldn’t believe it when we heard from a friend that a couple were badmouthing us . My wife approached the woman half who had been saying the stuff ( all untrue ) , and put her right . The armosphere was decidedly cold afterwards and we decided to leave .

Certainly won’t be going again as we do this for fun , and certainly not for shit like that !

It wouldn't put me off going somewhere because a certain someone is going to be there. I don't have any grievances with anyone on here though, but I know a few have them with me, but I see that as their issue, not mine.

I would like to think they would be grown up enough not to make a scene, and either just say an odd word to be polite or completely ignore me. I'm easy going and certainly wouldn't cause a scene even if they tried to. I would simply walk away from them and talk to someone else.
