Time wasters and fake profiles

Hi there friends, i have recently started to get frustrated with this site, mainly because of the number of time wasters and fake profiles on here, i.e men pretending to be female and couples, i have had the misspleasure of dealing with at least 6 of these jokers in the past week. I think there should be some sort of membership system in place say£20 for the year for members.
This would discourage the fake p ies and stop time wasters, i believe that they shud put members who have been on over 4months and a few yrs on automatic free membership and any more newbies charge them £20 membership fee. This i feel is the only way that will get rid of the jokers and fake profiles on here.

It won't make one iota of difference,its exactly the same on pay sites
Its one of the pitfalls of trying to meet people through the internet
You have to sift through lots of jokers,fakes and wannabes before you find the real thing,its worth it when you do though because they are out there
Maybe your vetting proceedure needs a bit of looking at to avoid it keep happening to you  |

you get it on all the pay sites as said above and it doesn't seem to discourage them but there are plenty of lovely people on here and dont think they should be discouraged from joining a fabulous site |

Don't be silly, we were on a site which charged twice that much and there were more time wasters and wannabes there than you could shake a stick at.
It goes with the territory I'm afraid and no amount of huffing and puffing will make a jot of difference.
I'd like to guess that this site has a similar percentage of so called 'time wasters' 'fakes' 'chancers', call them what you will, as any other site of it's type.
In fact we've had a much better success rate on this site in just over 12 months than we did in over 2 1/2 years on the other site - It was Local Swingers in case you were curious .. |

You say you've dealt with 6 of these kokers in the last week? Maybe be a bit more selective about who you're talking to - thats a lot in a week.
For someone who's only been here for 4 months i'd say you've done better than most single guys... |

i know about local swingers and i am on swing heaven which i dont like because it seems to be talk, i was foolish enough to pay£45 for membership 4weeks ago and wish i hadnt grr ,as im realitively new to this im learningx |

Nothing will rid this, or any site, of fakes and timewasters so there's no point in trying (or moaning about it for that matter).
To save your own time and frustration stick to members who've been verified by others by meeting in person AND photo verified via this site AND who are gold or silver site members.
It ain't foolproof by any means but it makes things a bit easier.

Local Swingers is nothing more than a cash cow these days, me and hubby left there a while ago now not so much because of the timewasters but because of certain people on there, because they are paying to be on a swingers site some of them seem to treat it as there own personal site so far up their own asses is almost anal ffs but as the revenue seems likes its starting to dry up in there some of the couples from there are starting to look elsewhere ie sites like this one who dont charge, ie here looking for the next notch on the bedpost and un-fortunately for me when that day comes i will be off to find pastures new perhaps go back to the days of chucking the keys in a glass bowl and hoping for the best |

okay.... this is going to sound really harsh...
When i read this type of thread I keep thinking "well how are they going about using the site?"....
if you have had 6 meets with regards to timewasters... and then been on SH, and had trouble with timewasters..... then what is the common denominater??
it could be you....
this and other sites do give you the tools to make it work for you however if you don't use them to your best advantage, with a bit of common sense added in, then the only person who is the blame is the one you stare at at the mirror...
we all have timewasters from time to time... it's a occupational hazard in what we do... but if you are having multiple incidences of this, then shouldn't something be going off in your head or something, or something saying "hang on, this is not right".... |

We started our swing fun on local and had a great time there, however I doubt if weve even logged on in the last 4 months. The local side of it is non existent in Scotland, and to be honest have met more real couples on here.
Yep there are always going to be timewasters as there are a lot of people who have fantasies they have no intention of carrying out but are happy to lead others on to feed same fantasies.
We feel comfortable on here however and you just have to take the disapointments on the chin so to speak  |

I think what Fabio says is true but only to a point. I think alot of people on here and other sites are timewasters and there are alot of people who are not. However, i do think some people shift from being genuine to a timewaster to genuine to a timewaster making the whole who is a timewaster a grey issue.
For instance, i was recently contacted by two attractive women...one who lives in my own town and one from Gloucester who emailed me to say hello and that they wanted to chat and meet up. Both were new to fabswingers, they wanted to meet me and i wanted to meet them so i put lots of effort in; i sent emails, tried to arrange to chat on the phone or msn and tried to eventually arrange to meet and make good friends.
However, as usual on here single females are bombarded with emails and get lots of attention and because of this attention being given to these two women i may as well have been talking to the wall for all the interest they then showed me a few days later. I got the occasional one liner reply to any message i sent and had to eventually ask if they were still interested where one decided to then tell me she doesn't meet anyone from the same town (which is something she neglected to mention when she got in touch and said she wanted to meet) and the other one became a hit on the chatrooms and had a queue forming to meet her that her reply to me asking if she still wanted to meet was to block me without her even telling me she was no longer interested.
They have since met with alot of men and are genuine to a point, however to me they are also timewasters. Yeah, they have the right to change their mind but if so i do expect to be given some courtesy and told about it, especially when it was them who contacted me. I put time and effort trying to develop a friendship and arrange a meet with these women only to then be met with rudeness and ignorance when they become popular.
So the op has a right to be annoyed and state his mind as it's not just him having a good old whinge. Remember even the most genuine people can waste someone elses time! |

I must become a detective because I can generally spot them a mile away on here now, and as someone else has said, I have also done well in the short time I have been on the site.
I think if you actually read profiles and try to understand what the person writing it is thinking, you can tell who is real and who is fake.
Just remember though, they aren't timewasters OR fakes, just because they don't happen to meet you! |

We have paid memberships... On other sites (reminds us we must look and see if we have mail sometime lol)
Can say 100% for sure so far to date we have met the nisest most genuine people and had less problems on this site than anywhere else....

Indeed, this site was recommended to us a while ago and although we have had some success on some sites, this site is by far the best, we have met some lovely people on here, and there are a lot of genuine and real people, very friendly and helpful too.
We have met most people on here. Timewasters we have encountered from time to time ,but sod em there just being pathetic. I agree with most on here, its how you go about talking to people, what you say to them and what thier profile says and so on..we usually ask to speak on the phone sooner than later with whoever we are likely to meet.

There are timewasters, fakes, wannabees and ignorant, bad mannered people on all sites whether you pay or not.
Over the years we have been on many sites, Swing2us, Dirty Davids, Melanies, Local Swingers, Swinging Heaven, SDC (swingers europe) and here, we've had success on all except Swinging Heaven. Swing2us and Local Swingers probably having been the best in thier time and this is the best at present. In our experience all sites get better and better until they reach the top of ther cycle and then fall off, our theory for this is, swingers being naturally friendly, all the genuine swingers recomend to their friends a site and success for all rises, but alas the not so benuine also here and they arrive, the site then hits its peek, goes over the top and goes downhill and the cycle repeats.

I was on LS and had a good time there, but eventually tailed off, was recommended this site by a friend and has been mainly good so far! Obviously different for me as a single female, but still get some time wasters! |
