Dunno whether to believe the hype or not. Might try a sample and see. Personally I am more intrigued by Green Irish T though I accept it may not have mass appeal. But I find mass appeal boring. For instance, nowadays you can smell Dior Sauvage practically everywhere you go. But Aventus is a legend amongst fragrances so I will check it out. |

OP... I see you’re from Liverpool... so I have some advice...
I once bought CREED AVENTUS from a guy in Wetherspoons in Liverpool by Lime St...
It had been robbed, and was genuine, along with about 10 other fragrances in his shopping bag...
I normally buy the £130 bottle... but he sold us the £260 bottle for £40...
I’ve been back and bought other stuff from there too... it seems to happen a lot, mid week, around xmas... but could go on all year round
Aventus is the only one I have... and it always gets comments, along with Jean Paul Gultier Le Male ULTRA |

The smack heads sell their swag all year round, don’t get spotted buying it tho coz you’ll get locked up for handling. |

With all the cuts to policing... they’re getting away with it left, right & centre...
I think SmackHeads are pretty low on the agenda, but obviously you should “Never buy anything stolen”, especially of it’s in a scenario where it’s obvious that it’s stolen... Most of the time, you will just get a warning... unless it’s a big ticket item, like a TV... or they can prove you actively ‘ordered it’ from the robbers |

Prefer Clive Christian myrrh
Aventus is a premier league footballer thing like a conti gt or bottle of Cristal in a nightclub. It’s nice enough but stupidly overpriced and it’s hardly the last word in men’s fragrances |

For those of you who like Aventus there is a website that sells various sizes of it starting at 1ml. They do it by filling smaller vials from the larger bottles. I think 10ml is £26 with free delivery. |

Definitely the Club de Nuit. It smells exactly the same though doesn't last as long. |

Aventus is very nice but doesn’t justify the cost. Plus it’s too popular IMO.
To me, it’s the go-to fragrance for posers who have a few extra quid in their pocket but don’t have the confidence, the knowledge nor the nouse to try something else. I would go as far as saying Aventus is to these men what Lynx is to young boys or what “Paco Rabane Millionaire” is for teenagers. Easy choice.
There are far better high-end fragrances you can spend your money on. I will save my favourite two high-end fragrances (selfishly, I’m not sharing as these are for me!) but even some of the less expensive houses like Hermès, Tom Ford, Maison Margiella and Comme Des Garçons do some amazing fragrances which I’d place above Creed’s stuff. |

So true - cdg does it for me as it’s all synthetic whereas many of the brands containing natural ingredients lose their top notes and go soapy. I mean, it’s nice to smell clean but a bar of soap is slightly cheaper than the over priced stuff we are talking about here. To be honest though, too much scent, no matter how expensive it is, can just end up smelling like a locker room at the gym. If you really want to look a little further than Harvey nicks or selfridges though, there are some very interesting discussions on the web about all of this with seasoned noses giving their candid opinions - which might leave you feeling crest fallen about your premier league choice of scent. Also don’t forget that some scents work for one person but smell awful on another. |

"Yup I have Creed Aventus. But also use Fine Accoutrements Platinum classic after shave which is very similar and only a tiny fraction of the price. "
Is it that nice as I’m tempted to get it to try |
