Saggy skin??

Hi all, bit of an odd one, I have been on slimming world and lost a couple of stone in weight, I have what can only be described as a bit of saggy skin, I am going to the gym to try and sort it, it's mainly my throat, bingo wings, a bit on my stomach and the top of the inside of my legs, we have played with some couples that have had a bit of excess saggy skin and initial thoughts were yuk, don't want anybody thinking that of us, what are your thoughts, just in case it doesn't disappear thanks xx

Congrats on the weight loss, and good luck with the exercise.

Not something I can look past, but I think I'm the minority and a confident attitude in your own appearance is certainly attractive.

Why did you play with them if you thought yuk ?

Just hope you don't meet people whose initial thoughts are "yuk" at the sight of it.

The use of the word ‘yuk’ really saddened me. That’s the reason that I’m as body conscious as I am, from a bit of a saggy skin and the thought of a couple I’m meeting thinking yuk of me would really knock my confidence.

As the previous poster said, I hope you never get to experience that from someone else..

I am in same boat but I don't think yuk.as it is part of me or others which tells us that they have a story to their body.that is part of that person and to enjoy it with them. And never put anyone down for it. If it's not what u like that's fine. But please don't disrespect the others that do.plus the one like me have respect as you don't know our story. But that's my point of view Hun xxxx

glad we’ve not met you. I’ve lost about 14stone and have some saggy skin (not loads and loads though) but I’d hate to be thought of like that. Bit judgemental. If you though yuk to someone else why shouldn’t someone think that of you? Let’s hope you get someone nicer than you are.

You may suffer having loose skin after weight loss. Some people will be put off meeting you because of this and some people will look past it. Just remember thought there will be others like you who think it looks yucky.

Personally I'd rather have a bit of sag here and there than being overweight. (I am currently obese, doctors words not mine plus I have saggy parts included my boobs that I use to be self conscious of), I find it hard to meet others as I know there are people like you out there that think "yuck" but will still fuck for the sake of scoring.

Wow OP yuk!!

I’ve lost 10+ stone and had tons of excess skin so have had a TT and thigh lift - they removed 13lb of skin to give you an idea!!

My Scars are horrendous as it wasn’t long ago and I still have other areas that aren’t great but I’m 100% healthier than I was 10 stone heavier so what else matters.

Not had any complaints so far but if I did I wouldn’t be going back and that's their loss

Fabulous is my middle name darling! I lost a shit load of weight about 12yrs ago, just couldn't get my head round it properly, always felt like I was looking at a stranger in the mirror lol it was far too much hassle watching what I ate blah blah blah.... I love food, I love going out and enjoying a meal, I love cooking, and I love cake.... did i mention that before lol?! I guess it all comes down to being comfortable in your own body, I've been big, small, bigger, medium, etc, but I'm happy with who I am now

Lol, you sound fantastic! Don't be so hard on yourself, you've done an amazing job at losing weight and if you want your wobbly bits tightened then exercise away! Don't ever be ashamed of your scars tho, scars tell a story and show that you've lived, if people don't like them then politely tell them to Foxtrot Oscar lol x

Wow seriously!! I have lost nearly 8 stone in the last year and never had any confidence I am shy but open I warn people of my insecurities if they don’t like it they can move on. I still wobble but I worked hard to achieve what I have and the word yuk makes me think that you don’t look beyond looks. And that means the issue isn’t with them it’s with you! You have done the hard work on the weight how about you concentrate now on the inside!!

But back to the OP

To be honest with you at 50 your saggy skin has less chance of snapping back.

Not like these women here that have lost 10 - 14 stone!

Just amazing!

I can't lose my extra 3 stone - so I'm trying to be at peace with my fat body.

If someone thinks yuk - then hopefully I'll never meet them!

14 stone is a hell of a lot, well done, like i said i just want orhers thoughts on it, it was MY initial reaction, a bit shallow i know but thats just me, to be honest we have met and played with a few people of many different shapes and sizes, we played with this couple and it looks like they have lost a lot of weight in a short space of time, if i thought YUK (maybe a bit harsh but that was MY thought at the time) then would people think yuk about me, i'm not a greek god by no stretch of the imagination, these 2 looked great, until naked and on all fours etc, just cos i didnt like it and thought yuk then it doesnt mean others will, hope that makes sense, like i said, yuk was maybe a bit harsh

Well done in your weight loss.

Sorry about the saggy skin.

Not sure about your “yuk” attitude.

The bad news is that no amount of gym etc will get rid of it.... tone muscles, lose more weight ..yes. Affect your skin..no, sorry!

"It's only skin."

That's the whole problem. It's just not.

Pinch the back of your hand, that's skin, any more than that and I'm affraid its fat.

I've had it, I've got it, as you continue to loose fat then your skin will tighten up again however! And here's the rub. Depending on how fat you were/are and the type of fat cells under the skin, they may never disappear completely as once created, fat cells tend to either hydrate or dehydrate but never dissapere completely and this is what can cause what is referred to as "lose skin"

It's also part of the reason us ex-fatties often gain fat back 'easier'

Huge congrats on the weight loss. Great achievement.

As for the skin, I wouldn't care or notice. I'd have my head buried in places anyway
