Don't leave me this way by the Communards, Kissing the fool by George Michael or Sweet Child of Mine by G & R. There are others and it's hard to pick a favourite |

"The Human League - Don't You Want Me"
the group did not want that tune to be released as a single they thought it was a good album track but not single material.record company disagreed and it became the biggest selling single in 81 |

"Some classic songs mentioned in all the posts...for my tuppence worth its got to be beat surrender...the jam " a
A fine choice.
It wasn't a hit but I'll go for "I Want You", Elvis Costello |

Wasn't the 80's just fab for music!!??
Feel so fortunate that we were around the music scene then.
We've been to a couple of recent 80's weekends at the Pontins Southport. What great weekends!!!
It would be even better to double it up with some fun in the chalet at the same time. |

I was born in 89 so.. i don't have much of a say.
However, I can't pick just one, my parents played alot of music when I was a kid.
Guns n roses etc.
But to me the ultimate performer, best band/ singer.. song writer. "Best song" has to be anything by Queen.
*fun fact* Freddie mercury died on my first birthday
Adam. |

A lot of good things happend for me in the 80's,went self employed, got married & two daughters came along, but 1980's pop music definately not something that I recall enjoying, think I was going through my classical phase then. |
