In line with what you have said, Wikipedia actually says:-
'an internet term for a person who, through willful action, attempts to disrupt a community or garner attention and controversy through provocative messages'
It has the word "disambiguation" next to it which means its a word with many different meanings |

Well my interpretation of trolling is posting on a forum in such a way that is intended to cause disharmony or conflict amongst the group.
Lots of people will throw the troll word around though when someone disagrees with them. |
