So, contray to modern thinking, I love girls in heels... But don't understand how women can wear such sexy heels, yet look massively threatened when you drop a compliment to them in your convo.... Very strange indeed....

Depends on what you've said and who to. If you've got a fetish but they've not or they're not used to such directed attention, then yes, they may feel a little threatened. There's a time and a place for everything so maybe just learn from your experience.
