I'm sure there are lots of us in the position of having to get a relative to take the kids for a night while you go for a meet or to a club.
Personally we haven't ever really been into "clubbing" for a long time so can't really use that to explain nights away.
What does everyone say they are away to do when they go off swinging?
We have used the meal and drinks one, the "we hoped to grab show tickets but there was nothing good available" etc
Just interested to hear what everyone else says
Cheers |

You need a 'hobby' where you regularly meet with the same friends. People have given examples before of ideas to use but my mind's blank sorry!
This way you always use the same excuse and don't need to keep making new stuff up. x |

In a sleepy little village |
Late night movie , date nights , meeting old school friends , invent some new friends that you spend time with , new hobby ( check what's on local that you could perhaps use ) haunted house nights , local bands playing gigs etc |

Thing is, whatever you say they won't think it's secret cover for sex with strangers |

Date night, as has been said. What you do on your date night is up to you.
The more protracted and involved your reasons become the less believable they'll be. If however you establish regular date nights that involve a meal, some drinks and quality time together nobody will think anything of it.
When your children reach the age when you can leave them alone they start to be really inquisitive and suspicious it'll be really handy then to have date night |

We don't get to clubs as often as we'd like but when we do my parents have them over night. We include trips to clubs with a meal out or a walk along a beach, so we're technically not lying and they know the area we are.
As it's my parents they like having the Children and recognise that we need some time to ourselves so it's win win.

Some good ideas here, date night and no specific plans makes the most sense.
Although telling them we are dogging then going to a club might be easier to explain |
