I'm an atheist and fast during the day and occasionally for 48 hours straight. Its a piece of piss really. You soon get used to it, and realise that your not going to starve to death. It makes you enjoy simple things like a glass of water or a brew a lot more. Cigarettes help as well!  |

I work with a lady who is married to a Muslim chap, she has thrown herself into the religion and all that comes with it....apart from when she's at work!! She definitely isn't fasting atm!!! |

When I first heard about fasting , I actually thought it was about living life at high velocity.
A conversation went like this while in a car on the motorway.
My mom says "why is that car going so fast."
I said ""he must be religious and he is fasting."
She said "I don't think it's anything to do with religion unless he wants to go to heaven quickly"
A guy I knew, a Muslim gobbled his food real quick. I actually asked him if he was doing that coz he was fasting.
Christianity has 40 days of lent. I tried to abstain from sex for that period. I felt like jumping off a mountain during it. Put me on a real downer.
Whatever your religion be happy and be friendly to others, best way to do that is have sex with them.

Remember, this she maybe on 'Period' That is probably why she isn't or she is paying her way out for a reason that we don't need to ask "miss a day of fast" it is equivalent to feed a poor persons 2 dinner of the 1day, or feed 2/person 1 day of 1 lunch |

I often don’t eat until after dark, it’s easy and work and go to the gym.
Every three months I go three full days on just water.
I’m an atheist and do it to detox.
Not much of a sacrifice to be truthful. |

Not eating or drinking for several hours for a diabetic, is very unwise and could result in serious medical consequences. |
