I'm just wondering why people do this. Deleted I get..not interested. Unread is exactly that. But what does read without a reply mean? Just curious to see if there's a consistent reason among forum users. |

Sometimes you don't have time to give an immediate response. If one of us reads a message that interests us, we would want to show the other before answering |

if they haven't replied, then it doesn't really matter does it? it's a good idea to delete your sent messages then you don't have to wonder about what's happened to them. |

Sometimes you rad and don’t reply because you don’t have time.. mean to reply later and then forget... or read not interested but just haven’t deleted!!
Whole list of reasons why unfortunately! |

We often don't reply. We only really reply when people respond to a meet we post . As our profile says we ain't looking unless a meet is posted but people still ask to meet . So not replying is the best way of answering the message |

surely its up to them, not anyone else, when and why they delete or not....still has nothing to do with pic hunters and fantasits..no reply is a clear message too. If people choose to ignore that and prefer to worry pointlessly about something they cant control or predict that's their lookout. |

We like to reply as a couple so I might read a message in the morning, show the mrs later on that night when we’ve sorted the little darlings out then decide if and what to reply. Sometimes it can wait until the next night because we have a life and it gets in the way a bit |

unfortunately men sometimes reply with abuse, so for many, its a lot easier to delete than open yourself up to that...and , as the site faqs say, this is not to be considered rude. |

It means they have read it that is all you can tell. After that it is all speculation, could be they intend to reply later, show it to a partner or they are not interested but haven't yet got round to deleting it (we quite often bulk delete all read messages) |

Not at all. We read all messages, but if they’re rude, not relevant, boring, one word etc then we don’t bother to reply. Do you reply to every bit of junk mail that lands on your doormat? Same principle, unsolicited |

To stumble upon them again several weeks later, when it's a little bit late for a reply so do get deleted in the end |

I was on the chat forum earlier ( hubby here by the way ) and obviously people browsing can see I’m online now. I then got bombarded with messages from one bloke telling me what he wanted to do to me obviously thinking because of the profile picture that mrs was on line. When he didn’t get any instant reply to his messages his final rhetoric was why are you even on here if you’re not gonna share your pussy. I don’t think I will save that message thread for wifey to read tonight and we definitely won’t be replying. |

I think it is just polite to take the time for a reply, bearing in mind you have taken time to send a message , just a simple no thanks would be good.
It’s rude trust to ignore, you would thing someone very rude if you asked them a question and they ignored you. |

Polite anywhere else, but here etiquette is slightly different. Not only are there sometimes too many messages to reply to. A polite no thanks is often an invite for insults, or "why?" or other unnecessary and fairly annoying come backs from people who don't seem to understand we can't shag every person who gets in touch x |

Ladies and couples on here can get bombarded with 100s of messages a day, so if they read a message, fine, if they reply, great - but if they don't, it's not out of rudeness or anything else...
...like most people, they have lives outside Fab. It's quick and easy to read messages, but time-consuming to reply - and for those who have single guys messaging them in their 100s, simply not practical.
If you send a message and get a reply, make the most of it. If you don't get a reply, get over it. |

Laziness, I never clean up my inbox. Sometimes if they’ve messaged before I just open to get rid of the yellow but don’t read (can’t atand having unread messages). Sometimes I open and it’s some copied and pasted shite so I just move on to the next message. |

Here’s another genuine one for you from me today. We received quite a pleasant message from a local male 2 weeks ago amongst a plethora of usual one liners and look at my cock pictures. We’re not looking for single males but because the message was polite and complimentary we didn’t delete it with the others. He was hoping for a social meet at least because he thought he was getting overlooked on here because he didn’t have any verifications. We were due to meet a couple tonight but they have called it off at the last minute, we have then since contacted the single male and asked him if he wanted a last minute meet with us tonight Just for a drink and chat. |

I treat read with no reply as meaning "myeh maybe... but not right now... and maybe never". When they finally delete it without having replied that's a "no" and I block them to save me accidentally messaging them again |

Really? So they’ve read 90 messages, that they never asked for so essentially junk mail, and then the have to spend at least 2 hours replying to those messages (assuming about 90 secs for each message!). Ridiculous to think people have nothing better to do with their time than to reply to unsolicited messages! Today I’ve had close to 300, I do have a job and a life, my priority is not to answer fab messages, especially when at least half have not given me any kind of respect |

For all those insisting on a reply please also remember that once we have replied if we then chose to say, block all single guys, everyone we have replied to then can get through the filter. We could block every single guy who messages, but then you’d be moaning about a block for no reason, but who’s to say that circumstances or preferences won’t change further down the line?! |

Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
If anyone else has put this forward, apologies.. I didn't have time to read all the replies..
The inbox only holds around 50 messages on display, anything beyond that sort of disappears into the fab etha...
Chances are it wasn't read as it wasn't seen, apparently some women get more than one message a day... Personally I don't believe them, I think they are exaggerating a bit...
But if they did get over 50 messages in a day and yours was at the bottom of the pile, chances are it will never be read...
Perhaps I will write a short story about it - The loneliness of the fab mail message.. |

It’s 80, I’ve counted , and yes they drop off the bottom so sometimes I deleted without reading based on the messengers location, whether there’s an attachment or the content of the message which I can see. However, I think the OP was asking why read and not delete when finished and not interested.
Another thing that happens to me a lot is getting a second message asking why I didn’t reply. Unfortunately I don’t memorise all messages, senders and content of the mail so if I’m bored and feel like telling them the reason, I need to go back and find the original message, I would not be able to do this if I deleted straight after reading. |

If you think it's rude, don't bother messaging in the first place. On this site you are more likely to get knock backs than someone being interested (and I mean that generally, not you personally). |

A message like that is literally like being heckled in the streets and if it happened in real life you’d put you head down and ignore or tell the to fuck off. I don’t think many, if any, women would turn round and say brilliant, thanks for that, here’s my number, why don’t you come and fuck me at mine right now! |

As a couples account, either one of us could read the message alone. If we don't reply it could be we want to show the other and discuss something. So reply at a later time.
Or we could put a "meet us now type of meet" we get so many replies priority is to make contact with the choosen ones and replies to others can get missed.
Not being rude, but just sorting playtime as it's limited time. |

"Frustrating enough as it is. Respectable manners are a must for me. But not everybody is like that. But to some it's easier
Why is it not respectable not to respond to a read message?
It doesn't take 2 mins to reply saying you're not interested. Common courtesy. But like I say, not every one is the same."
2 mins for every 50 no replies is 100 mins.. then theres the replies to the but why not replies to your sorry but no replies.. and on and on and on |

We get sometimes over 200 messages a day. In fact we have broke the fab message counter on the mobile app and had it go over a 1000 before, usualy when we upload a new pic that gets to the top spot.
Do you seriously think that every one of those messages is a decent, honest, well written message that even needs to be read, never mind to be replied?
There’s only so many times you can reply to “hi” or “great tits” you know!

"It could be that the sendee simply fell asleep as I have done... "
Yes this too. Last night a good looking guy had messaged me and I was too tired to respond because that would obviously initiate conversation that I didn’t want to get into, so I put him on my hotlist and messaged this morning. |
