It could just be something they fancy doing that day but not all the time.
If you click and find they have guys blocked it could be that they had put the message up and havent changed there filters |

because they may not be actually appealing to you....
if they have lots of friends on the friends list they it would show up on their lists... and they would be able to contact...

not that it affects us but do have sympathy with the OP's question as often see profiles where they have (a) selected men amongst their 'looking for', but (b) have activated the Not Looking For single Guys filter
... so when a guy searches for peeps looking for Guys the profile will show up - but when they try to message they see their gender is blocked  |

now there's a question... we have blocked people of a certain age ... If they try to send us a message would that come up as "the user has blocked you"
or would it say why he can't message us??
