sorry spelling was all wrong , just spoke to a couple who had a meet now on the profile , says theyre staying at a certain hotel so i said cool i can get there as its local , they then replied we havnt actually got the hotel but if i was willing to pay for the room they would meet me there , lol is it me or is that a total liberty . |

It's a liberty alright....whether it qualifies as a total liberty or not is open to discussion. |

Well you can look at this in lots of ways. Realisticly its a choice not a liberty, you don't have to meet them. you don't have to pay for the room its very much a choice for you. If they had paid for the room and you had visited you would have been happy yes? For all you know they may have financial problems or other issues who knows. I assume they are travelling though as its local, did they ask you for their petrol money too? |

it's wrong no matter what way i look at it, if we said we had hotel booked and lookin a meet we would be stayin for breakfast, sounds like they want a free ride but it's their idea, if we arranger to meet some1 for hotel meet we would pay half, but like carlsburg we dont do hotel meets, at home anyway, we will be next weekend though and will be paying ourselve as we're stayin |

I don't agree, we have only one side of it and messages can get mixed. They may have meant to imply they know a hotel near the OP and were prepared to travel if he paid for the room. personally if its our room we would pay for one but that's us. |

It is though, as it's your interpretation of what they said. You yourself have stated that it was an "impression", therefore it is only one sided. |

I wonder if some people/couples expect the single guy to book the room, as insurance that he will turn up?
However if they mislead you about how the hotel meet was set up, then yes i think they had a cheek. And i certainly wouldnt meet em!! |

them filling out a "meet tonight" page saying that they are staying in a hotel is not an impression is it , its a statement and a fact , think anyone would get the impression i did , think your the only want to see one side of it , anyway if i have to start paying for sex eg hotel rooms then i may as well go to the local massage parlour and have the choice of 3.  |

if it was a couple i was keen to meet and they couldnt accom then i would offer to get a room somewhere , the way they went about it was misleading and in my book sly , it actually stated on the meet tonight bit that they were in the hotel . wether they have financial problems or not it seems a little backhanded to me .

just to balance things out i have once before been on the expensive end of a hotel meet!! i travelled to the hotel that was loval to him, i paid for it (ok it was a cheap deal through work, but not the point), i dropped off to his mates after - see its not only single guys who get it 
but in response tot he OP i think yes, if they had ameet up saying thyey were staying in a hotel but then they said they hadnt even booked the room they had a cheek, you could have gone back and said, i will pay for the room and you can reimburse me as we meet in the bar etc |

We have been asked to meet guys and help with the cost of hotel rooms by single guys on numerous occassions.
Our views on this are simple - you require the room because invariably you are cheating on your partners.
We would not book a room locally regardless of how meritorious your credentials.
If we went away we would pay our own costs (that way we can get rid of you easily).
From experience we have always found those who need to ask are as tight as a ducks ass when it comes buying a drink or paying thier share.
So unless the guy's hotel costs are being met by his company we don't and won't meet single men in hotels.  |
