When you get a message from someone who has all their photos as ‘friends only’ are we the only ones who can’t be bothered replying ?
They generally have friends only photos and short profiles. Frankly you have little idea what even their body is like. We think life is too short to be needing that level of work to find out about someone.
Are we being harsh?

I always reply to first messages. The hottest man I've ever met has no pics on his profile at all.
People are missing out on him when they ignore his messages.  |

People can hide their photos for various reasons. Personally I'm happy to chat and go from there with people. If after exchanging a few messages they still didn't offer photos, I would then give up with them. |

For me it’s when they have Sydney University or copyright warnings that are longer than the 5 words in the profile....then I don’t bother |

If they have friends only pictures that's fine as long as they are willing to be friends. It's the ones with no picture at all and a one line profile that I don't bother with. I will reply and tell them why I am not interested, then block.

I'd been having a nice chat with someone for a while who has no pics on their profile. Asked for pics and always got dismissed. They have friends photos so I sent friends request which was ignored . I give up.
Most people I've found who have no pics are happy to send as soon as mutual interest is confirmed.
If they wasn't interested they only had to say I wouldn't have lost any sleep.
It's the hope that kills you.  |

I have friends only pictures. They are for people that I have met, or I know am going to meet.
If I think someone is just looking for wank pictures, then no, I won't send any pictures over. Otherwise I am happy to do so. (It also depends on the type of conversation I'm having).
But that is my decision and the other person needs to respect that. |

And I forgot to say, if I got a friend request from someone who I was chatting to, I would either delete or ignore the request until I was ready to share my pictures. You shouldn't give up hope if a friend request is ignored, but are still chatting. |

The ones that annoy me the most are those that send a message that states 'I love your profile and pics' but do not show me the same courtesy by having nothing in return.

I have pictures, I send when I feel I am ready.
Sometimes you just want to see what kind of reply your going to get from a message.
I also hate people sending me friends invites just to see my pics, it's just rude!
Anyway a sexy little avatar usually helps |

It depends on the rest of the profile but quite often if a profile contacts us with no photos and we reply it is instantly followed up with a friends request. At that point we ignore. |

If someone writes to us who has no public pictures on their profile then we expect them to send a pic in the first email. If not we ignore because there is a high possibility they are a time waster or fake/pic collector.
It is amazing how many people suddenly disappear once you ask for a clear face picture |

I completely respect that - thanks for the reply.
I don't think that any talk relating to sex was had and I'd like to think I was quite open during the conversation too. I guess I just found it unusual especially as meeting for a coffee was mentioned. Kind of helps to know what someone looks like in that instance.
I also respect people's right to be cautious and remain somewhat anonymous too.
