"So having a lazy Sunday with tea and biscuits, but what’s the best one?
I’m starting strong and putting chocolate hob nobs out there as a contender! "
Oh you must be spying on me, literally just demolished half a pack and was going to start a thread about guilty secrets! |

Ha ha! So are you in agreement that chocolate hob nobs are the best or do you have a different offering? |

"Dark chocolate digestives for me and about a litre of tea too ??"
Not a big fan of dark chocolate normally but actually these are better than the milk chocolate ones. They don’t beat a hobnob though! |

The best biscuits just have to be custard creams
I tried those new digestive thins this week - they are awful. They remind me of cardboard and are tasteless and hard. They don't even soften when dunked

If I'm going fancy/technical I'd say either Vienesse Whirl (if you consider those a biscuit) or a caramel digestive.
Basic biscuits either NICE or a Custard Cream. With a cup of tea you can't beat a custard cream or a pack lol! |

"Controversial and certainly not a dunker but Jaffa Cakes have to be a contender
But are jaffa cakes a biscuit or a cake, technically a cake because when biscuits go stale they go soft, when cake goes stale it goes hard .....
I wouldn't know. I've never had cake and biscuits go stale "
Hehe good point..... |

We believe that the courts ruled on it and due to their tax status are considered biscuits "
I bow to your biscuit knowledge as i have no reason to disagree other than today ive found 2 bloody boxes of jaffa cakes out of date today in my cupboard and they are rock hard |

Chocolate Hob Nobs. Best biscuit in the history of all biscuits. Need a big mug of tea with them.
I don’t buy them anymore as I’ve no self control with hob nobs and will eat the whole packet immediately! |

"Can’t beat a McVities Digestive. But with Stilton ... only Stilton ... no bodily fluids.
They’re for elsewhere as part of a healthy skin regime. "
Ha ha - so yo like a Digestive covered in the congealed bodily fluids of an animal |

Ooh i like the coffee ones though. You can eat the whole pack and imagine its only the same as three of four chunkier ones. |

For dunking, it's got to be Rich Highland Shorties from Waitrose for me. Soaks up the tea quickly so only needs a quick dunk, then savour the taste of tea, shortbread and sugar sprinkles in one heavenly mouthful.
Although milk chocolate digestives and choco leibnez are yummy on their own, they're not great for dunking as they leave a floating chocolate residue in the cup which to my mind ruins the brew |
