What is the actual purpose of winks? Theyre supposed to get someones attention right so why are they hated so much? A lot of people write on theyre profile that they wont even respond to a wink and even those that dont say that dont reply anyway. Also ive received wink and then when ìve replied with a message had no reply back... is there a use for them?

Some people use winks to show interest but alot of people take no notice and prefer a message ( I mass delete mine) I just take a wink to mean like your profile but that's it

They have worked, but if you're going to wink why not send a message?

If you receive one do you wink back or message?

I'll normally wink if I've read the profile and I'm not quite what the person is looking for so I'll wink to let them know I'm interested and giving them a chance to check me out to see if I'm what they like without making them feel obligated to respond

I see a wink as being lazy. The majority of winks come from people with no picture ( or 1 cock pic) and very little text so therefore I don't bother looking anymore

I don’t wink that often to be fair I usually message but like what has already been said sometimes I will wink to gauge interest if a profile doesn’t have a lot of info of what they are looking for if that makes sense ?

We much prefer winks. Exellent way of testing the water. Advantage of winks is that there is no obligation to reply, whereas with messages some people think it’s rude not to reply. However the flip side is that someone needs an extremely informative profile as there is no reliance on an informative message. We’ve met 2 fantastic guys from us winking. Admittedly I don’t think we’ve ever responded to a wink. But we might do if the timing was right.

I don't mind them but I'll never message someone who's winked me. I will wink back though if I see something of interest in their profile.

"I don't mind them but I'll never message someone who's winked me. I will wink back though if I see something of interest in their profile. Us too, the wink back is more an invitation to try again, if it's from people that garner no interest to us, we tend to let it slide."

I usually wink and hope to be winked back. Saves a message not read or deleted

I prefer a message than a wink to be honest!

I suppose just like in real life a wink can be a useful tester without going through the hassle of writing a message.

We've been winked at, and if we like them we wink back. Then they respond with a message and it goes from there.

Winking can have a use if you want to use it.

Most of our winks are the exact opposite - usually from nice blokes and couples that seem to be happy flying under the radar.

I don't think it's lazy. Just a quick hi. If u read the forums most ppl want the ins and outs of a ducks arse sent to them. And code words!!!!!!!! Yawn. No wink back no interest and no cramp in fingers from writing an essay for it to be unread 6 weeks later
