Would you hesitate to contact police if it meant that you would be revealing that you're on fab?
What is serious enough for you to risk your privacy to report?

I wouldn’t hesitate if it was serious enough, particularly being a witness to a serious crime. If it was a minor assault, abuse, or theft from me only, I would think about the pros and cons.

nothing that could happen here with the exception of serious violence and I had a sub friend who was really badly abused by a couple she met blood and the R word involved ,I told her to report them but she wouldn't because of her job  |

Oh, and I believe if you are the victim of a sexual offence, you're identity cannot be made public if the case went to a prosecution.
Non-sexual and I think you can use a c/o local police station as your address.
Perhaps someone knows? |

Any crime that effected me personally.. I can handle Hate Speech.. If it were physical, I'd have no problem personally. Was listening to something on Radio4 that got me imagining that conversation earlier. Possibly having to deal with judgemental officers.. i'd enjoy that i think.. but the circumstances would obviously take any fun out of my situation I guess. |

I was once stopped for a routine check at 3.00am just after leaving a meet way out of my area (while my wife was away) - got the "where have you been, where are you going" question...
....answered I'd been on a date, of sorts, which prompted a "long way from home" comment - I didn't mention Fab by name, but said it was a meet via an internet site...
....at which the very pretty female officer smiled knowingly, said she hoped I'd had fun, and let me on my way... |

I'm keeping a close eye on a situation, and if I think that person starts posing a threat to someone mentally or physically then yes I'd go to the police about it. |

Don't put allegations of wrong doing between fab members onto the forum as you are breaking rules.
To the OP, I suppose it depends on your definition of serious, but yes we would go to the police for something that the site wouldn't be able to deal with, ie something that happened away from the site. |

I wouldn't hesitate to go to the police if I felt something was serious enough to report.
I was on the verge of contacting the police because of stalker issues, the threat of that and me exposing him on fb was enough to make him back off. |

I would not think twice if I had witnessed something, the police asked me for help while out somewhere (I have had to used trucks to pull cars out of ditches or off crash barriers after accidents to help out in the past) so what is someone know I'm on here maybe it will make this more normal to most people and less taboo if they realise we are normal humans just going about our lives. |

I really don’t think the police would batt an eyelid about the prospect of someone being on Fab & reporting a crime, unless of course it’s somehow connected.

Having had a stalker and 2 guys trying to get into my house at 2 am (all from fab, not on here anymore) I no longer accommodate anyone in my house. If I ever felt threatened again on here or off site I would have no problem with contacting the police in future. My only regret is not doing it at the time. |

I have a very persistent Fab stalker, a previous FB from a couple of years ago. 25+ profiles to get round blocks. He just never gives up. He's a policeman. If he ever comes to my house I will definitely report him down my local Nick.XXX |

I have in the past, many years ago.
An ex stalked me and found out I was on another site. He tried to use it against me, hacked into various social media sites to 'update' my details with it and also sent screenshots of my profile to my parents - including a follow up phone call to my dad. The police were fantastic, arrested him and it stopped immediately after. |
