"Are pansexuals like the vegans of the sexual world? "Oh you're bisexual, I'M pansexual.." " Oh you're vegetarian, I'M vegan..." " Haha... that’s true.... it annoys me that pan isn’t an option on here

"Im none of it, I'm human, pure and simple, anything else is a box to tick on a form in an attempt to dehumanise or segregate Dax" Interesting ideal but Human sexuality is the way people experience and express themselves sexually.This involves biological, erotic, physical, emotional, social, or spiritual feelings and behaviors, it is how an indvidual defines who they are and as such not just a tick in a box.

"From the definition I just read isn't it just covered by 'bi'? " No bi means that you are are attracted to the traditional 2 genders male and female. The others all have their own meanings.

"From the definition I just read isn't it just covered by 'bi'? " No, I’m bi. I am attracted to cis-males and cis-females. A polysexual is attracted to some but not all genders A pansexual is attracted to all genders. Gender is fun
"I’m not sure it would be too costly. Just a few more rows to add into the coding table. Gender could also use updating. I’m genderfluid, which just isn’t an option on here which feels a bit weird in this day and age. Then again, I present as female and only tell people in real life if it ever comes up in conversation, which is quite rare. " Unfortunately while the majority of the site is still identifying as Straight male-Straight/bi female (looking for same) nothing will change.

" No Pansexuality, or omnisexuality,is the sexual, romantic or emotional attraction towards people regardless of their sex or gender identity. Pansexual people may refer to themselves as gender-blind, asserting that gender and sex are not determining factors in their romantic or sexual attraction to others. A TV is normaly a male who likes to dress as a woman and not someone who is transgender

Like when you tell a vegan that you're also a vegan and they tell you that they're also gluten free and lactose intolerant.

" No its not one upmanship the big difference is that being a vegan or vegetarian is a lifestyle choice and you can change it if you wish at any time Sexuality is how you are wired and as such you dont have control over it. To utter the words of the great lady gaga i was "born this way" There are many people who see themselves as bi who would not date/sleep with trans or non binary individuals. So they are only attracted to cis male/females.

"I call myself bisexual because I am attracted to men and women. To me that covers everyone, including trans or genderfluid. Are you not then polysexual? Or pansexual if you also include agender as well?" I'm sure people can call me that but I'll stick with old fashioned bisexual
"Are pansexuals like the vegans of the sexual world? "Oh you're bisexual, I'M pansexual.." " Oh you're vegetarian, I'M vegan..." The issue being that there is alot missing around sexuality on sites like this. Alot of the tome i think its just easier for people to say they are straight gay or bi than explain what pansexual, polysexual, asexual, demisexual or sapiosexual etc are. Until more awareness and education is carried out in society on the Kinsey scale and the human sexuality spectrum as well its unlikely to change. " Agree.. but I think on here it would be better to totally erase the 'sexuality' tick box and just say who each person is looking for. e.g. looking for men & women.
"I always though people were either straight, gay or bi, all these new modern sub genres melt my poor old brain Same... 2 genders male or female " Now gender is a whole new subject lol and is dependent on where you feel that you personally fall on the spectrum between male and female. Commonly people identify as male or female, but some fall in the middle or move throughout the spectrum. You need to consider that gender is not about the sex of a person. When we are born our gender is forced onto us depending on the sex ie penis = boy vagina = girl. As you know that this is not the case. A person’s gender is the complex interrelationship between three dimensions: – Body: our body, our experience of our own body, how society genders bodies, and how others interact with us based on our body. – Identity: our deeply held, internal sense of self as male, female, a blend of both, or neither; who we internally know ourselves to be. – Expression: how we present our gender in the world and how society, culture, community, and family perceive, interact with, and try to shape our gender. Gender expression is also related to gender roles and how society uses those roles to try to enforce conformity to current gender norms. As such you have a number of different genders in all there are around 63 different gender combinations based on the above.
" I've got to say it sounds like sexual one upmanship. Like when you tell a vegan that you're also a vegan and they tell you that they're also gluten free and lactose intolerant. " I think you’ll find that there are plenty of pansexuals who actually never bother to tell anyone about their sexuality. That’s because it’s no-one else’s business. If someone’s using oneupmanship about their sexual identification (or veganism, coeliac disease and lactose intolerance) then you’ll likely find that they’re also mouthing off about their big house, big dick or expensive lifestyle too and that just tells you about their personality, nothing else. Or pansexual if you also include agender as well? I'm sure people can call me that but I'll stick with old fashioned bisexual " But for me this is the how it should be. You have chosen to define yourself as bisexual. That is the sexuallity that you feel best suits you. Others choice to define themselves as pan or poly or sapio etc. That is the wonderful world we live in. We have that choice.

"Some people in here are completely overthinking this! Why label everything? " Why is someone defining their sexuallity over thinking or labeling themselves. As i keep.saying its part of who someone is. We all have a sexuallity. Being comfy with yours and allowing people to know it to me is not an issue
"Some people in here are completely overthinking this! Why label everything? " Because some people don't fit into the usual few categories and they want to be able to describe themselves accurately. If there were no word for 'straight' then straight people would soon want one.
| |||
"Then why feel you need to name everything? I have now decided I am qwertysexual - and I demand to have my sexuality recognised. " So you define yourself on your profile as straight. If it does not matter why not put yourself down as gay or bi ???

No one is getting wound up. Everyone has the right to define themselves with the sexuality that fits them. All i have done is highlighted that sexuallity is not a one upmanship issue or a label.
"Wow there are folk having sex with saucepans now. Who knew? " Any new jokes please lol

"Pull up a beanbag! To go back to your original analogy vegans and vegetarians are different - as it what they will eat. If you sleep with the opposite sex = straight If you sleep with same sex = homosexual If you sleep with both = bisexual Simples" They are 10000s of people who would disagree with you there. I have put forward valid information to show that sexuallity is not that easy to define. If you are unwilling to accept that then that is your choice. But do not dismiss the 1000000s of people in this world who choice to associate their sexuality to one that you do not accept.
| |||
| |||
"Look - you will clearly shag anything and anyone - I respect your choices. I for one am getting slightly bored of your self-righteousness. Don’t compare your liberal sexuality with a persons moral choice as to what they eat. " So you resort to insults now thats fine. If you read what insaid you can not compare a personal choice ie a vegan to something like sexuality because you dont choose that. Also i dont shag anyone and everyone as no doubt as a straight male you would not shag every woman that says hello to you. And there is no self-righteousness involved i have replied to comments made with valid information and FACTS. As to a persons moral fiber when your denying people their right to defend and define their sexuality and gender in all its wonderful complexities you should question your own moral compass. And last of you are getting bored why keep reading?
"Look - you will clearly shag anything and anyone - I respect your choices. I for one am getting slightly bored of your self-righteousness. Don’t compare your liberal sexuality with a persons moral choice as to what they eat. So you resort to insults now thats fine. I continuing to reply as it a forum for free expression - and, like you choose to give every type of sexual preference an individual name, I choose to reply and counter what you say if I disagree. That being said, I am really bored now as I am sure many others are. Good night from me - I have decided to become sleepysexual and expect you respect that.

And good night | |||
"Pull up a beanbag! To go back to your original analogy vegans and vegetarians are different - as it what they will eat. If you sleep with the opposite sex = straight If you sleep with same sex = homosexual If you sleep with both = bisexual Simples" To not even acknowledge other genders and sexualities that have been proven to exsist allows me to question your moral compass ad you are denying peoples core self. Bit thats my free expression on your response. Good night
"Too many tick boxes for me I’m afraid. There’s probably a million possible different variations for humans but this is a swinging site at the end of the day. People come here to swing and party! Agreed but its good to know peoples sexuality before you start to party Why? If they want to play with you, and you want to play with them, then what difference does their sexuality make? Well i look at the sexuality as if we are meeting a couple its good to know if they are straight or not so boundries and expectations can be set " I've met bi women (as a 4some of 2 couples) that didn't want to play with me. I didn't see it as a sexuality thing, just a lack of attraction. I think sexuality in a scenario such as this site is irrelevant because there still needs to be attraction and/ or desire.
"Then why feel you need to name everything? I have now decided I am qwertysexual - and I demand to have my sexuality recognised. So you define yourself on your profile as straight. If it does not matter why not put yourself down as gay or bi ??? Because the women won't want him, silly. I am live and let live, but I do get wound up by overly liberal bs - ffs!" What's that? I don't understand what you mean.

Yes i understand where younare coming from sexuality has nothing to do with attraction but more to who you are open to being attracted to.
"I'm a demisexual. " Do you find it difficult meeting compatible people on here?
| |||
"Ain’t swinging supposed to be just fun? Boxes and labels don't help anyone, just go play with people you are attracted to......" But they can help you feel "special".
"Ain’t swinging supposed to be just fun? Boxes and labels dint help anyone, just go play with people you are attracted to......" So i hot on someone i find attractive and they are straight. See labels do help. If we see someone we like we check out their sexuallity to see of we are compatable. See if someone is not bi i will respect their label and not hit on them
"Wow there are folk having sex with saucepans now. Who knew? " This sums it up perfectly lol. I noticed someone saying cis-male and cis-female....are they available on Netflix
| |||
"It's just the trendy labellers with their Dymo machines. Bet all the jars in their cupboards are labelled and face forwards too ." "Is that jam?". " No you cunt! It's a preserve"...
"It's just the trendy labellers with their Dymo machines. Bet all the jars in their cupboards are labelled and face forwards too ." Trendy labels is an interesting way to describe a sexuality that has been around for 100 years. It was first written about in 1917 but the principle was considered before that. I fact the complexitites of sexuality have been discussed for hundreds of years.
| |||

"People need to get out more or take up politics. Enough said. " So someone who has strong views about a subject that effects 10000s of peoples lives for the negative because of views that come from ignorance or lack of understanding need to get out more. Thank you i know what i am doing wrong now..
"People don't like to be lumped into boxes with everyone else, so they invent stupider and stupider sounding little boxes for themselves that sound cooler and more individual. " These stupid little labels as you call them are confirmed sexualitites. 50 years ago people were saying the same to bisexuals. I notice you identify with bisexuality, why do you feel its ok to show youe sexuality but feel that anyone that does not see themselves as bi be denied theirs ?
| |||
"It's fine if we want to label ourselves as whatever we want but unfair to label others. There is only one race and that's the human race. It's a bit off topic from OP which I believe was light-hearted but it seems that it's been hijacked by the 'I know best' brigade Let's start debating veganism instead " No one is labeling others i am saying dont knock how someone labels themselves in regards to their sexuality or deny that the sexuality they identify with is not relevant and is simply a joke.
| |||
"A serious question... I'm attracted to a woman who presents as female but describes herself as genderfluid. Do I: a. Worry about it. b. Not worry about it. " Of you are attracted and get on and happy to get to know them better why worry
| |||
" No one is labeling others i am saying dont knock how someone labels themselves in regards to their sexuality or deny that the sexuality they identify with is not relevant and is simply a joke. Fair point and I agree with that although to be fair I don't think we should stifle humour " I do when it can segregate or mock a group of people
| |||
| |||

"Nobody is mocking Don't play the victim" “You’re the victim!” Wow - Pans People to the Prodigy! Impressive
" In my 43 years on this earth no one has ever asked me what my sexuality is nor have I ever mentioned it or felt the need to tell anyone. Does it really come up in conversation that much? X

Sexuality is not a choice its something that is part of who we are. I will agree whether you act on those thoughts and feelings is a choice. I know a number of people who have struggled with parts of their sexuality and have chosen to live a life denying that part of them. I will also say that these people have been happy with their choices.

I know alot of people from the lgbt community that where active in that protest march and their view was why should a straight person be able to have sex at 16 but not a gay person. It had nothing to do with them wanting to shag 16 year olds. Suprisingly those of us who define themselve by an alternative sexuality are reasonsable individuals who can control our urges. Would you make such sweeping statements about those who class themselves as straight and prey on 16 to 18 year olds. And that includes men and women.
