Hi all. Have you ever had Facebook tell you these are people you may know. So you check them out only to find you have seen them on fabs but have never met. |

"If you have the Facebook app it trawls your contacts list, email contacts and everything on your phone."
Is it just the app that does that, rather than just logging in to facebook from Google. |

Yep Facebook can be quite sneaky if you don't look after your security settings. It certainly goes into your phone contacts (which may include email addresses) unless you prevent it from doing so. Also you can preempt this happening to you by ensuring your own settings don't allow others to look you up by number or email.
Twitter is, if anything, worse. I once started a twitter account on a clean laptop (no cookies) and Twitter suggested a bunch of work colleagues, school friends and people from the non-monogamy scene that I should follow....creepy... |

From Google? Or do you mean like on a browser?
If you log on to Fab on a browser then log onto Facebook without clearing your history, that can be dodgy. Facebook scans your browsing history and 'suggests things you might like'. |

Yes just on a browser I think I don't tend to log out but if I've been on ebay or anything else all the suggestions pop up on Facebook too |

If you keep contact details on your laptop I think it works in the same way and Hoover's up your contact lists and adds them to the evil spawn of Satan...
No I'm not a fan lol..
And nothing would ever entice me to open up my whole life and history to Facebook ever... |

I've had worse than this,
Took a selfie of myself outdoors for my fab profile, and got home half hour later, when I opened Facebook the flipping photo was staring me in the face, with the message do I want to update my status with friends. ??
Talk about panic. !!
Fortunately you just tab top right of screen ( See less messages like this ) and it went away. |
