So obvious that they cut and paste too
We have a code word thingy on our profile too and only 1 in 10 bother so you know they havent read our profile and just can't be arsed to make any efforts to grab our attention.

Sadly you won't stop it as some people think quantity rather than quality will get results.
You can reply letting them know its impersonal and unwanted. If everyone did this it might soon stop. |

"I always thought the purpose of the code word was to make deleting messages easier and thus stop them being annoying.
No code word, no read.... delete. Can't see how that's annoying. "
The code word thing only ensures someone has read your profile and doesn't stop the same old cut and paste.
Admin could put into place a system that allows only 10 of the same message to be sent out. There are lots of other sites that do this. |

Agreed, but....
No codeword off a very fit guy (I do nose every profile!) is a little bit annoying... I'm all 'what an idiot.. you're fit and you blew your chance' *block n delete*

I wouldn't know if they send the same cut and paste or have a selection..... if they haven't read my profile I feel no obligation to read their message and so can't be annoyed by it.
If I choose to ignore the lack of my code word and go ahead and read the message... I really should only be annoyed with myself. |

I don't know whether I've received a cut and paste or not as when I was meeting I never opened messages from men outside London, under 45 or had bi/69/hung/blk etc in their user name as they obviously hadn't read my profile.
Those I opened in the main wrote a personal letter and I replied to those...even if it was to say no thanks. |

I think you have got across a little the thread is about cut and paste messages not if someone reads a profile or not. I just looked at yours and skim reading the code stands out without really taking in the context. If it works for you though then all is good.
I think what really bugs people about the cut and paste is its so impersonal. |

Its not just you though it annoys many. The site could limit the number of people you mail in a day or the number of messages but it would hit innocent users chatting. I don't think there is a prefect answer. |

Lol maybe you should read what a thread is about, like i pointed out its not about code words and they hardly stop someone cutting and pasting. Its a little ironic you expect people to read your profile but you fail to read the context of a thread don't you think? |

I can understand why folk would get annoyed with "cut and paste" messages and to be honest I couldn't be arsed to send such. But then again I rarely send mssages anyway because I've found in the past that folk just delete anyway without response. Now that is really annoying for if I do take the time to write I will have read the pofile many times, just to check I meet the criteria set. A polite no thanks cost nothing.
Having said that, mostly now if I do send a message it would probably be to a new member, welcoming them and not exactly asking for a shag.
_rummps x x
PS. Surely if a code word is called for one would ensure it ws included in the title? Sadly even that doesn't guarantee a response. g. |

I skim read it lol
Aside from the OP stating “especially after on my profile i say mention a certain word”….. ask yourself why cut and paste messages can be annoying. I am sure there are many reasons but some of the main ones are:
They are impersonal and generic.
They are sent out often based on where you live or if you are online rather than what interests you have in common.
They do not demonstrate an interest in the person/people because the sender often hasn't bothered to look at who they are being sent to.
They are lazy short-cuts.
They are often sent by people who don’t match the preferences of the person/people they are being sent to.
The sender often has no idea if they are even interested in the person/people they are sending the cut and paste message to.
Knowing someone has read your profile indicates they haven’t just spammed every person who is online regardless of interests, preferences and so on.
People who read profiles are much less likely to spam a cut and paste message.
So why would I focus on the code word? Hmmmm may be it’s because you can’t stop cut and paste messages being sent, but you can filter out a lot of them by only reading message from people you are pretty sure have at least looked at more than the photos on your profile.
May be you should re-read the OP and then see if you can see the irony which I can see from where I am sitting |

I just think the majority of men in particular on here are lazy and expect this place to be an automatic bonk fest of standard-less women and couples willing to drop their drawers endlessly to all and sundry.
I'm sorry if that's not anyone else's impression but it's my experience.
Very few are prepared to make an effort and build a rapport |

What an amusing response its rather academic though as code words have little or no relation to if someone cuts and pastes something although i can see how you are at pains to squeeze a rather square peg into a smaller round hole.

When ever I write a message I am always trying to make it original and tailored to the person/couple I am sending it to.
Although half of the time even to me some of it seems copy and paste lol.
That being said I send about 1 or 2 messages a week due to compatability.
I like to try and get to know someone a bit through messages, the forums or chat.

Although I never use cut and paste messages, I do sometimes feel that my opening introductory message can often sound generic. I do quite often try to include something from the persons profile as reference, however it isn't always that easy. Then I start wondering have I said too much or too little, then I have to go back and check that I've spelled the persons name correctly! My god its a minefield. |

And you obviously didn't get the point about 'Ad Hominem' made to you by another user.
I have clearly explained the connection between code words and cut and paste messages... even though I shouldn't need to... even though the subject of code words was part of the OP and in context. And even though (this may come as a shock) you're not the thread police and people can talk about whatever they want, even go completely off subject…. without your permission being required
So, do you actually have some form of argument to back up your insistence that code words in profiles have nothing to do with the subject or do you want to just keep trying to divert attention for your lack of counterpoints by ignoring the subject and going for the person?

btw... what happens if you want to arrange a party or a social or a gangbang or share a message with all of your friends?
If you are going to say all they need to do is change one or two words.... don't you think the spammers will work that one out too? |
