"Hi we are thinking of going Thailand for a holiday , just wondering if there’s. Any couples out there that’s been ,and took girls back for fun , ? " I have just got back from 3 months in Pattaya, Thailand. I am a single guy, but know my way around. In answer to your questions. The thing to do is, when you go into a bar, there will be a Mamasan - Manageress. Buy her a drink, and tell her what you are looking for. No need to be embarrassed, they have heard it all before. If she has a girl, or girls working in the bar, that will do what you want, she will point them out to you. Then it's up to you. Buy them a drink, have a chat, and if you all click, off you go. Best of luck.

"Is it an over reaction to think that Thai working girls would be absolutely riddled? " Yes, very like believing that all swingers must be "absolutely riddled". Most, if not all, Bangkok go-go bars insist that the girls get STD check-ups every month. This is not for the benefit of the punters, it's so that problems are found early, when they have done minimal damage and are more easily cured. To protect yourself against HIV, buy a bottle of 30 “Truvada” tabs from a pharmacist as soon as you arrive. They cost about £40 in BKK, somewhat cheaper than the £400 in this lunatic asylum. Take one tab every evening until the day after your last risk. One month later, get a full STD check-up yourself. You have to wait four weeks because the NHS HIV test can’t reliably detect the disease earlier.

" To protect yourself from HIV buy Truvada? Use a condom and get to know the people you're having sex with " Condoms are not 100% "safe". I had one come off right at the start of my last trip. And they have been known to break when damaged by a rough fingernail. The OPs are visiting Thailand and will not have any time at all to "get to know" the bar girl they choose. And exactly how does "getting to know" someone guarantee freedom from STDs? How many thousands of people have been infected by their spouses and partners? Perhaps we should all carry STD testing kits with us on our hols.

I know they are working on a vaccine in Africa.. that's having some success.. I've never heard of this though.. doesn't sound like great advice to me. I may be wrong.

"Is it an over reaction to think that Thai working girls would be absolutely riddled? Yes, very like believing that all swingers must be "absolutely riddled"." Prostitutes and swingers are both statistically higher risk than your average person, but I think there is still a world of difference risk-wise.
" Prostitutes and swingers are both statistically higher risk than your average person, but I think there is still a world of difference risk-wise." Yes indeed. Read the Forum threads about STD's. Look at the bareback meets advertised and profile pics. Your average UK swinger is much riskier than any Bangkok go-go bar girl.

" Thrillseekingmissile (above) believes that knowing someone is good protection. See what I mean?" No, I don't see what you mean. You've chosen to read the part you wanted to and ignored the part about a condom I believe. There is no 100% guarantee.. but taking the time to get to know someone AND using a condom will do more for your sexual health (bar not having any sex) than anything else. Don't pick a fight with me.

There are people in Fab who WILL see how very, very dangerous you and your advice really are.

I've not reccomended using a prescribed drug which has possible FATAL side effects have I? Just repeated the same advice ANY medical professional in the UK would reccomend. You can buy many drugs in Thai pharmacies, it doesn't mean its safe to use them. The doctors advice from the sexual health clinic has served me well to date.
"No. Sex workers across the world earn their living from their bodies. Most I’ve met are very careful about cleanliness and safety. Far more so than a number of swingers I’ve met. I’m afraid the pox-ridden, crack-whore, stereotype is more the creation of lazy journalists and those seeking to promote religious or political agendas. Education and a plentiful supply of condoms are pretty much all it takes. In much of the world there is little or no social stigma in being a sex-worker. Quite the opposite, in some countries it is seen as a good job. However if you seek the pox infected stereotypes, find out where the junkies hangout and there you’ll find a few desperate souls who’ll do anything for cash. To me they aren’t really sex-workers, they are abused victims of addiction. Be warned though, in Thailand they take a fairly radical stance with junkies. Can I take my serious hat off now? " So much love for this! Well done on being informed, rather than just nodding at the world stereotyping SWs!

So much love for this! Well done on being informed, rather than just nodding at the world stereotyping SWs! " When I travelled round SE Asia I found there were a few types of "Sex worker". 1. The high end professionals who work in clean, luxury clubs and brothels and cater to international business. 2. The low end professionals who work for the "Mama Sans" Out of small dingy bars and clubs and take their clients to hotels. 3. Those who use "Backpacker" Bars to befriend travellers, no transaction is involved if they like you, other than paying for their food and accommodation expenses, in return they will be your "Girlfriend" And treat you like a King whilst you remain together. In the hope you develop feelings for them. 4. The junkies. Thai authorities may take a dim view on drugs and drug addicts in some cases. However many of the police are corrupt.. and drugs addictions to Jabba and Heroin are very common place in countries like Thailand and Laos. * Disclaimer.. My time in Germany put me off ever "Paying for it" Again. Being a curious individual and a sexual person.. my eyes were wide open and I spent lots of time partying and befriending sex workers, never actually paid to have sex with any, nor did I get myself a Thai girlfriend. Not that I look down on those who do. It's all about personal choice.

Google "PREP" and "PERP"" I've since done some research.. and I'd reccomend you now tell everyone about all the possible FATAL side effects of taking Truvada.. A treatment used for people who have HIV. Not a medication reccomended by medical professionals to prevent it. A condom used with a woman I've known long enough to begin to trust.. isn't going to kill me. Yes there's a risk it may break, yes there is a slim chance I could get her pregnant or catch an STI, there is no denying that... it's a fact. Truvada can cause massive liver failure and other LETHAL damage, which is why you should have it on a prescription from a professional. Not some random bloke on Fab, dispensing advice that may get someone killed.

Truvada is prescribed in the UK for people who's partners have HIV, regardless of the "fatal side effects". No doctor would ever recommend that "getting to know someone" is any sort of protection against STDs.

You're wrong.. that's exactly the advice I've been given by Professionals in my local GUM clinic. Condoms and discretion in whom I choose to have sex with. I don't chase bareback sex. Choose women who are likeminded.

Worsening of hepatitis B (HBV) infection. TRUVADA is not approved to treat HBV. If you have HBV and stop taking TRUVADA, your HBV may suddenly get worse. Do not stop taking TRUVADA without first talking to your healthcare provider, as they will need to monitor your health. Serious side effects may also include: Kidney problems, including kidney failure. Your healthcare provider may do blood tests to check your kidneys before and during treatment with TRUVADA. If you develop kidney problems, your healthcare provider may tell you to stop taking TRUVADA. Too much lactic acid in your blood (lactic acidosis), which is a serious but rare medical emergency that can lead to death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get these symptoms: weakness or being more tired than usual, unusual muscle pain, being short of breath or fast breathing, stomach pain with nausea and vomiting, cold or blue hands and feet, feel dizzy or lightheaded, or a fast or abnormal heartbeat. Severe liver problems, which in rare cases can lead to death. Tell your healthcare provider right away if you get these symptoms: skin or the white part of your eyes turns yellow, dark "tea-colored" urine, light-colored stools, loss of appetite for several days or longer, nausea, or stomach-area pain. Bone problems, including bone pain, softening, or thinning, which may lead to fractures. Your healthcare provider may do tests to check your bones. Tell your health care provider ALL your health problems. Be sure to tell your healthcare provider if you have or have had any kidney, bone, or liver problems, including hepatitis. If you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. It is not known if TRUVADA can harm your unborn baby. If you become pregnant while taking TRUVADA for PrEP, talk to your healthcare provider to decide if you should keep taking TRUVADA. If you are breastfeeding (nursing) or plan to breastfeed. Do not breastfeed. IF YOU BECOME HIV-POSITIVE, HIV can be passed to the baby in breast milk. All the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. TRUVADA may interact with other medicines. Keep a list of all your medicines and show it to your healthcare provider and pharmacist when you get a new medicine. If you take certain other medicines with TRUVADA, your healthcare provider may need to check you more often or change your dose. These medicines include certain medicines to treat hepatitis C (HCV) infection. Great advice mate.. This is why you need qualifications to dispense medical advice and not listen to Quacks on the internet! FFS!
