So was having a good conversation with a couple. Even spoke with the lady on the phone. Organised to meet in a local pub, turn up and no one there. Call and text the mobile straight to voicemail and no reply. Get home and find I am blocked in fab. Why do something like this?

Because unfortunately some people are shits or to scared to go through with it. All you can do is report the profile.

Because some people get a greater sexual thrill from doing something like that, than they possibly would from the sex option.

“Whispers in the ear” he can’t report if he’s been blocked.

I’m guessing they were fucking like rabbits when he was sitting in the pub.. you should mention their username on your profile to warn others.

They probably just bottled out in the end and were to embarrassed to say and took the easy option out .. they should have just been honest with you

He spoke to the woman on the phone.

As others have said, probably lost their nerve and didn't have the guts to tell him.

I agree reporting is pointless. Dab won't ban someone on the basis of a report that could be malicious and they won't be arsed to do a full investigation.

Maybe they just bottled it, we’ve been blocked 5 minutes before a meet before, then unblocked a few days later so we blocked them. If we’re unsure about a meet we arrange to meet at a club- at least then if they don’t turn up or just not no connection you still get a good night out!

That's the down side of getting involved with casual sex. People are casual about everything.

Same thing happened to us on our first Fab meet. Really frustrating, especially when you have to arrange childcare & travel etc. Timewasters ruin the experience for everyone.

Made us understand why some people won’t talk to those who aren’t verified.

I don't know why people do this. It seems quite immature. I know people get nervous, things crop up last minute etc but adults face up to life and either let people know or don't commit to something that scares them in the first place.

If you have a message from them block them and report them to admin.

"Bunch of bastards.

That said. I’ve had many a time on meets/dates where I genuinely had to cancel. Told them honestly and had a barrage of abuse. I can see why people are scared to text and take the easy way out.

I wouldn’t though. I’d not sleep at night "

I have had genuine reasons to cancel and be cancelled on but all it takes is a message. To get nothing but to be blocked and ignored is just rude.

Because unfortunately OP they can. Some treat others like shite but I’d like to think the majority treat as they would like to be treated.

Onwards & upwards, don’t forget to meet on your terms too

There is an option to report no shows, most of us show up if we say we're going to.

We suppose every time a profile is reported for a no show it's logged? Get to a certain number of reports and you're out?

Best to just take a No Show on the chin and move on.. unfortunately it happens all the time on all the swinging sites ..I real bummer if you have travailed a far distance too..that's way we do not go more then 20 miles from home

It's happened numerous times to us before, I'd be happy with a one line "can't make it" than a no show, especially as we make a big effort when we meet someone.

Happened to me once when I was on Fab before. It's one of the reasons I left as it seemed a waste of my time. However, lesson learned.

Talking normally, yes I can report the profile and yes I have. As to if anything gets done judging by the comments and messages received I would guess very little.

I believe the 'no show' option when reporting is a new introduction. You would think that there was a point to it or why introduce it, unless it's just window dressing. Would be good to know it's function officially though.

Here is an explanation from Admin from another thread on how they deal with reports.

******Just a quick note. If people report others and we can verify that they have broken site rules, we always take action (either a first and final warning, partially suspended account, fully suspended, mixture of the above).

Every single report sent via the REPORT link is reviewed. Clearly it's not in our interests to have people on here who are bad for the site. Equally we need to verify what has been reported and be fair to those who have been reported.

Admin

PS. we never provide feedback on what has happened. It's just not practical given that we get 100s of reports a day.

Here is what the page says after a report has been submitted:

--

Your feedback has been saved.

A website admin will shortly review your feedback and take the necessary action. After reviewing the evidence available to us, we may disable an account, remove a user, disable certain aspects of that user's account or issue a warning.

By leaving feedback you help improve the site for everyone who uses it. Thank you.******

That's the old blah, blah, blah nicecouple. Pretty sure the 'no-show' option is a new one. No show isn't against site rules.

Can you establish why it has been added and what consequences are?

I was merely reposting admins response to similar questions from another thread. I'm sorry if it doesn't answer your query.
