Have sex with a person who has HIV.. have a relationship with or casual sex with. Do clubs specify that they are HIV free places ( people of course can and will lie. or can you not do that .. im not sure of the club etiquette..

Nope, and clubs can't (and don't) guarantee anything regards the health of their customers. |

No club I have ever been to has ever specified anything like that
How would they know, what is different from a club to a party or a meet in a hotel,a dogging meet or a one on one at somebodies house?
As adults its up to us individually to act responsibly with our own sexual health
I would'nt trust anyone to take care of me I take care of myself
I doubt very much that given the choice I would have sex with someone that has hiv,I also doubt very much that they would tell me they had hiv in the first place |

I would not knowingly do so..
Clubs normally have little signs up saying that anything happening is between consenting adults.. So dont see how they could or would put that.. after all.. even if everyone on entry showed a certificate it doesnt mean that they are clean..
Maybe in the future all clubs will have little blood test units, that screen blood and saliva on entry. ( sorry was watching something on sci fi earlier.. lol)

Yeah maybe everyone should get the snap test on entry.. its quick and easy.. we do it on the cats at the vets . Son does it at the soho clinics.
think that was the secondary part of the question really .. more interested to know if people would have sex with a person with HIV regularly or as a one off. |

Presumably ( i'm guessing ) that HIV+ peeps would look for other HIV+ peeps to play with? Might as well go the whole bareback sloppy route.
As someone once joked, i don't want to catch that AIDS again. |

What a bizarre and pointless question.
Mention "bareback" and the zealots appear, mass blocking anyone who even says "each to their own".
Do you honestly think people are going to destroy any chance of a shag by stating on an open forum, "yes, I'd sleep with someone with HIV?!!" Honestly?!! |

If all the bizarre and pointless threads were stopped, there wouldn't be much left. |

There are people who have sex with people diagnosed HIV+. Its not AIDS! The healthcare professionals who counsel AIDS sufferers give advice about that sort of thing. They don't suddenly become untouchable!
As for tests at clubs, puhleeze! If you're that paranoid, stop swinging! |

I thought I was hallucinating for a second there, but I totally agree with you! This is one of the most pointless threads I seen recently. Along with all the other hundred and thousand stupid threads on "Safe sex" and "Bareback".
Dumb question! Dumb thread! |

swinging is a high risk to your sexual health. protect yourself as best as you can and deal with it.

To be honest i dont really know enough about the ins and outs of HIV and how you cant catch it to give a honest opinion
I know you can catch it thro intercourse, but as for oral, kissing im not that sure, i believe you have to have a open cut to have any chance of catching the virus in these ways but im not 100%
So because of that i would have to say no
You cant protect yourself against something you dont fully understand |

I think you miss the point.
The question is would you knowingly sleep with someone with HIV, I'm assuming in a swinging context and not within a marriage.
Therefore it's a pointless thread as I said: no one is going to say "yes" if they want shag! |

it seems to have sparked some debate about testing at clubs etc so its not really a pointless thread is it??
it might be pointless to you but then you are not the only one who uses the forums |

I don't think there's many who would swing with someone who is HIV positive. Most of us are of the opinion that safe sex is best and we protect ourselves as much as we feel necessary. HIV infection is not the easiest virus to catch.
Some clubs, Chams included, have specific dates that they hold a clinic for STI testing which I presume is an outreach service provided by the GUM team. I think this is an excellent idea and a good service.
Testing on entry could not work.
You'd need trained medical staff, a trained nurse and maybe a healthcare assistant. The NHS wouldn't have the resources to put staff in at every session so it would have to come from the private sector.
For permanent health testing you would need a sanitised clinical room which would adhere to infection control procedures.
You'd also need access to a microbiologist.
Names, personal info would have to follow strict confidential information governance procedures.
Testing everyone on entry would take time so would lead to lengthy queuing
The results are not instant
The cost of this would be borne by the club and thereafter passed to the customer so therefore you'd be looking at a £300 entry fee.
People couldn't afford it and wouldn't go, so club would have to let it all go anyway
