Hello, You must see an Endocrynologist, who will do a battery of tests on you. Insist on this, once a year GP testing is not good enough initially.

Ask to be prescriped Eucerin 10% Urea lotion, This is the best for the itchy dry skin you mention.

Vaginal skin problems can be as a result of thyroid problems although often this is Candida Albicans entering the vulva through thyroid damaged vulval skin which is often very sensitive with this condition.

A simple vulval swab at a GUM is the easiest and quickest way to test this.

If this is the case you can self med with generic fluconozale

Most thyrroid problems are treatable so do not despair but you have to be patient, give the meds time and be quite insistant on the correct treatment

If you have a thyroid complaint, you should be entitled to free prescriptions, make sure you get it as it can become very expensive.

Thank you for you info .. I have infact had lichen sclerosis for 17 odd years prolly more .. been on thyroxine since i was 40.. I see a dermatologist every 6 mths so they can check my skin for pre cancerous cells ... I was infact just trying to see if anyone else here suffered with it and managed to carry on a sex life..seems now guys get it too and I wondered if we all hide it imagining we are all the only one unable to discuss with anyone.I recently joined a yahoo site but they seem ti be mostly USA people. the brits on face book all seem to want to hide and so only want to message privately not joining in the open forums in case someone finds out. .. Its not catching but people seem ashamed. hey ho .. thanks anyway for taking part..

I hope yours will be well behaved and sorted out with medications. Ive been under the specialists for the past 6/7 years.

I find it frustrating how it effects my short term memory at times. People who don't have it or understand mock the condition and think its just an excuse for things, but living being not medicated as you experienced to a certain degree for 6 months can be a pain in the ass.

I had a 'blip' with mine a while back. I had Thyrotoxicosis. It's not a nice condition when you're not on medication. You start to wonder what the fuck is going on.
