I quite often see the phrase "I was here before and now I'm back" or something similar on profiles.
I often wonder why they left the site and deleted their profile as often the owner is trying to re-establish contact with past acquaintances.
I'm sure there are many reasons but thought I'd get some people's experiences gathered together here.

We've left a few times since originally joining over 2yrs ago.
The first profile we were quite open and honest, still are, we're not ashamed of who we are or what we do, but put up face pics publicly - I then got a stalker, not only had they followed me and could retell my movements for the day, they had followed me home and could tell me my neighbours names (had spoke but never disclosed details of my day or address). This person was saying they were going to approach me in the supermarket and grope/kiss me. We have 4 children and they have every right to be safe at home and when out with their mum. This person made me feel unsafe. So we left deleting our profile.
Sometimes home/children/work/ourselves are all we have time for so we take a break.
Though we say on our profile we have been on and off for 2 years its not particularly to reconnect with others, we generally will contact those we want to reconnect with, its more so people realise we are not total newbies and deluge us with messages. |
