Why use ‘Cuckold’ in swinging ?

Jump to: Newest in thread

Ok this may be a bit deep, but it does make me wonder why we use the word Cuckold in swinging circles. The word Cuckold originally comes from the French word for cuckoo (as in bird), because the female bird would often change mates (adulterer) and leave her eggs in another bird’s nest.

• The definition of cuckold in the modern dictionary is a man’s wife who has committed adultery, or is an unfaithful wife.

• An archaic term for a cuckold is a man who knows about his wife's infidelity but tolerates it.

Now, here’s the crux (if you haven't glazed over yet lol)

1. I neither see myself as unfaithful, as we are doing this together

2. We don’t consider swinging as committing adultery

3. My husband doesn’t ‘tolerate it’ he loves being part of it so he wouldn’t call or define himself as a ‘cuck’

So, what’s your opinion fabbers ?

It means you aren't in the cuck scenario of play, like we aren't.

Hotwife = Yes.

Cuck = No.

Does Fab need a Hotwife interest = Absolutely (well over due, and well over looked...)

The term in swinging is absolutely right, just doesn't apply to all swinging scenarios.

IMHO.

Why do you think it doesn't have a place in swinging? Just because it's not something you're into?

Words and phrases change meaning over time.

In today's swinging it doesn't have the archaic meaning. People are using one of many evolved meanings of the word.

Cuckold and swingers aren't synonymous. They are different activities. You can enjoy them separately or just one and not the other.

Cuckold in the swinging scene is a little more specific, and often has a lot to do with simulated humiliation of the husband, caged cock and verbally humiliated. Whilst his wife has sex with her boyfriend/bull in front of him.

Because the word has evolved in to to well-documented, specific sexual scenario. Fairly obvious really.

I would say it is a word that has been 'adopted' to identify a certain sexual practice/preference but would have to disagree that it is a well-documented sexual scenario.

For example, If we look at the word Gay – fifty years ago it meant to be happy or bright, and the word evolved to become something different and is now the accepted norm for something else and [gay] is clearly defined in many dictionaries.

But with the word Cuckold – it seems to me that it has not yet ‘evolved’ enough to warrant other definitions in the dictionary (Oxford and others), and I wondered why that is.

So very true. Back when I was still single I was primarily interested in meeting couples into cuckolding roleplay. I learnt that it never meant the same thing twice. Every couple had their own interpretation and as an experienced Bull I saw it as my role to get to know the couple (which for me was part of the fun) and see what made them tick rather than make assumptions about what they wanted.

"I thought the cuckold was the man who has to watch the bull fuck his wife? "

We understood cuckold to involve more than just watching. It includes humiliation of the cuck. Hence the term 'bull' - against some y, no-mark husband...

Just watching your wife being fucked is hot-wifing... which is what we enjoy most... that doesn't involve a 'bull'. In fact, we would avoid any male who uses that term in their profile.

The OP is indeed correct in the origin of the word ‘cuckold’. Taken from the practices of the cuckoo bird who lays her eggs in another bird’s nest so that it is that hard labour of another bird to incubate the eggs and raise the chicks at the expense of their own chicks. I believe this word was used in yesteryear to describe the husband of an unfaithful wife who becomes pregnant with her lover’s child and passes the child off as as her husband’s, who then proceeds to put his own resources into raising another man’s child. It seems this word has been adopted by the swing and fetish’s scene as this scenario is quite a turn on for some. Obviously the word has evolved to cover a variety of scararios associated with a married woman having sex with other men with her partners enjoyment. However the word ‘cuckold’ is more associated with the more extreme, hence probably the introduction of the word ‘hotwifing’.

We're with you there. You've probably also noticed that the majority of men who term themselves 'a bull' don't have any verification's.

Always thought that the majority of 'cuckholding' is just guys wanking over the thought of it.

Swinging definition in dictionary:-

"1. to cause to move in alternate directions or in either direction around a fixed point, on an axis, or on a line of support, as a door on hinges. 2. to move (the hand or something held) with an oscillating or rotary movement: to swing one's fists; to swing a club around one's head."

We take underused words and re-purpose them labels are a pain in the arse. But they give a start point in a profile.

Central

We appropriate language in ways that reflect the subtleties of our lives and small communities often adapt language to fit their circumstances - cuckold seems a very apt word to be used, rather than inappropriate.

In any event, the individual relationships have their own unique adoption of some cuckold principles, with people involved making it their own style. Long may it continue.

Or feminising the cuck so that he is no longer masculine and therefore his wife is entitled to have a real man fuck her if her sissy hubby gets aroused dressed as she is dressed and therefore as a “woman” he Cannot satisfy his wife like a real man does, plus the sissy then cleans up a real mans cum and the sissy gets further humiliation by having to do her a real woman would do while a real man fucked her

Think of it more as a role play thing. Once the seasion’s ended he’s no longer a cuck, unless of course they live it 24/7 inwhich case he’ll always be a cuck.

This is my point really – if you ask 20 people what they think Cuckolding is you will get 20 different opinions – there is no real universal definition. But why not if there are so many couples who are into it ?

I (we) have never discussed this with another couple – not because we didn’t want to, but basically because we wouldn’t know what we were talking about (which is always the best time to keep one’s mouth firmly closed).

Anyway, the other couple would only be giving us their interpretation and of course we wouldn’t know if it was right or wrong without a proper definition.

Is the lack of definition or understanding because it’s a subject that’s not talked about or discussed openly like other sexual preferences/fantasies? And if not why not?
