this topic has probably been aired before but interested to know the collective view ?, what is playing safe.
How is a condom used during penetrative sex any safer than oral sex ?
Do any of you advocate safe sex by stating a condom must be used and then enjoy full oral sex as well ?

Condoms for vaginal/anal penetration are about 'safer sex' not 100% safe sex. Simple really. |

because our past time isn't risk free but penetrative sex without a condom is a whole lot riskier than oral sex...it's about cutting down the risks, not eliminating them. Your assurances of cleanliness mean nothing and your last HIV test could be 3 months out of date-the best way apart from abstaining to protect yourself is using a condom... |

i suggest u research transmission rates of Stds via oral compared with penetrative sex. When u are better informed u will understand about safer choices and risk awareness. |

I have mentioned this before, the only safe sex is no sex, and as that is probably no choice for many here then it's all about risk assessment and gambling, those that "soft swing", depending on their definition would probably be at least risk here, according to my gum clinic apparently I am high risk, being a bi-sexual transvestite, regardless of how many partners I have. What worries me is that many people say safe sex only, meaning wear a condom for penetrative sex, under the missapprehension that it protects them from everything, truth is, it only reduces the risk, it doesn't eliminate it, many of the same people advocate unprotected oral which doesn't make sense to me, take care, and get tested regularly, it's a free service and the staff are usually very friendly, xxx |

I would rather not have oral than use a condom.. I also on occasion play bb... Although its not often... But we prefer it...
We know the risks.... Even higher as a do swallow on a regular basis... But also checked monthly... And As yet never caught anything...

"I've never been able to have sex with a safe as I couldn't get it inside the keyhole. I tried cashboxes and keysafes and they were no better - the lube made the locks rusty

Try an oil-based lube and you should be OK |

Perfect, but try not to lose that fiddly little hose attachment or you'll end up with a very greasy flange |

you are only as safe as the person you play with.
I will not entertain the idea of penitration without a condon, but am more than happy with oral sex without one.
In the end it comes down to respect for each other and the lifestyle we chose to live |

Just as I thought...lol
Now onto the WD-40, it rots latex by the way...., so in the current context would be unsafe.
We're not advocating any particular activity, and would wholey respect anyones request to use a condom. |

Ditto as whats already been said, GUM clinic staff are great, they advised us to go as regular as we feel our meets are going, ie the more meets the more checkups etc etc. Only a snall risk from oral, but best to get checked out than not. Condoms always with full sex. x |

"Research done, and inconclusive x "
no...you either did not understand what you read or do not understand what risk awareness means .
Statistically the chances of catching std from oral are far lower than from bb.Everytime we leave the house we assess the risks we are willing to take.Do we cross at a red light? Do we wear a seatbelt?.
Managing risk is part of being a responsible adult. |

some times it pays to follow medical advice as they are the people who know best!
North West Police have put out an alert to women who may have played with a guy who has HIV. could be hundreds they believe!
hes been jailed for GBH!
his pic is on the BBC website
medical advice is always well proven!
anyone who takes risks with their own health ie drugs,SMOKING etc should know and decide and understand the harm they can cause to others as well as them selves |

Life is a risk... you make a judgement call.. Yes its a risk.. but as long as your not lying to people.. We make it clear that sometimes we go bare.. not often.. but there are times that we want to.. Never short of people that will either.. and only one person has had that the BB on there profile.
SO all those thinking that they dont play with people that BB... you would I would say be wrong...
I wouldnt ever and never will use a condom for oral... but do mostly use one for sex..
Safe sex is no sex.. and I know plenty that because they use comdoms for full sex dont think they need checking out.. NOW they are the ones that worry me.

I won't play with anyone that stipulates "bareback only" on their profile, and the ones that say, "it's ok, my hubby has had a vasectomy" are really missing the point.
Oral sex is different, studies are inconclusive, however, good dental hygiene is your friend, bleeding gums offers a transition medium, but people get a little mardy when I ask to check the ladies teeth (horse buying style). This is where the nose comes into play, you can smell a gum or broken/rotting tooth problem.
Giving oral plays a large part in my activities, so I have to be sure everything is ok, I mean I am not young(no I am not upset I didn't win the tomboy of the south west thread...... Well ok, a little), but I am young enough to want to continue to live a healthy lifestyle........
I am concerned by the number of people I see that stipulate bareback and then read 12+ verifications from single guys and couples, because potentially, these people have met people I have met or may possibly meet.......
Life is about risk, calculate your own, but be mindful that some people say "safe" but have slacked on that account (including me recently, duplicity anyone? But I have been checked over)
Sexual health is so very important if one of your "leisure" activities is sex. A well man check is never a bad thing.... |

Lets face it, its been said before, the only true safe sex is to have no sex at all.
We all see safe sex in different ways, but the above is the only true form of it.
I think most take chances, even if they do think and believe they are practising so called safe sex.
Kissing, oral thats unprotected, unprotected penetration, and even unprotected hand/genital play, these are all risks.
But then, we all take risks in our daily lives, dont we. A little late crossing the lights, crossing the road, driving too fast, a flip side I know, but food for thought hey?. |

It's just about being honest, if it says "safe sex" on your profile and you have indulged in bareback swinging, let the other person know, it's only fair...... Swinging is about choice, informed choice.
What I find mad is the "won't meet smokers" but will only have "bareback sex"....... Now aside from the smell of smoke, are these people possibly saying that they are more likely to get cancer from passive smoking (and let's be honest, how many smokers, smoke on a meet with non-smokers.... Pretty much zero I am guessing), than you are likely to get an STI?
Now that's weird...
