Guardian article on racism in swinging

What do people think of this article: https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2018/jan/13/black-woman-always-fetishised-racism-in-bedroom

Particularly people into the scene.

Now, I know, I'll get a hundred responses saying, "preferences are preferences; it's not racist." But of course, preferring one race over another is the definition of racism.

The question is, is she right that this is a fetish which is a manifestation of hundreds of years of racism? Are the given answers for this desire actually a truth evasion? And does it matter?

(I think it does matter. That doesn't mean it should be avoided - but one should be willing to explore the origins of one's feelings. No desires are pure.)

Dress it up however you like, if people aren't into it, they just aren't into it, why would calling them racist make an ounce of difference to their choices.

Sexual preference in terms of aesthetic attraction isn’t racism. Beauty and beholder and all that.

Also remebdr how black men are fetished here for their blackness and the stereotype of the ‘hung BBC’.

Guardian. Says it all really. Worthless rag, just like the rest of them. All the article means is that the ever so politically correct Guardian has found something else in society to label racist or accuse of racism. Meh.

'Preferring one race over another is the definition of racism?' Surely discriminating in favour/against one race over another is racism. One could say it is simply semantics & I agree we need to look at why you prefer or not, but that is a very broad stroke statement. The BBC thing makes me smile, how do black men with 'normal' size or small feel? Where do white or asian guys with 'large' dicks fit in..pardon the pun..

In another recent thread I was told that black guys should own the BBC label regardless of dick size

If I recall correctly it was being championed by a few, including a guy who had black friends from Brixton growing up who used bbc for themselves. Never did understand the relevance but it meant something to that chap.

Skin colour dont make a difference to me, people are people. It is hard to get a meet these days though with all you women saying "hung black only" even if you say hello to them they will give you a crappy reply like "cant you read" to me its not a fetish or fantasy but think it may be for a lot of people and they are the ones catergorising them, they think its kinky or naughty to be with someone black, almost like its wrong and they get off on it. Not on. We are all the same, ive had 2 black gf's and a chinese gf and my nethew is half Jamaican and it shocks me how rasist people are towards them, in this day and age, come on guys! I think the fact that it is brought up in topics shows racism is still very much a problem. But at the same time, some people just love darker skin, they find it sexier. Its a touchy subject that should be left alone i think. I dont like to judge and i would contradict myself a lot talking about this. Really its a swinging site, people come here to forfill fantasies and do thinks they would never do otherwise, just leave it!

Ppl have different preferences that does not make it racist if their is purely about what they find attractive.

However, for others it may be they have their preference based on an underlying racism that maybe even they may not have acknowledged or understood.

Quite often I will get comments saying being with an Asian woman is like getting the forbidden fruit as not many are into the swinging scene/they've always wanted to be with an Indian because it's a fantasy ....now how do I take that....is that racist because they want to fuck me because I'm Indian?

In conclusion...there is a variety of reasons ppl have preferences ...but I do feel the racism card is used far too often and it's not always a true reflection of the situation at hand.

And that's coming from an Indian Lady!

No. The whole article is a snowflake presenting her opinion as fact.

I told Sir we were both snowflakes.

Apparently in the 70s that was a rather racist insult
