Every time I visit someone who has a dog or two in their house, they ask me, are you okay with dogs?
I say with a smile, yes
But in the back of my mind I’m thinking,
well I’m not the one who’s gona bite
Just strange, very strange |

I have a sizeable dog who can be quite attentive to visitors. I always ask the question.
His enthusiasm for prawn crackers means that the delivery man from the local Chinese is terrified of him. |

On the odd occasions we do accomodate I always check people are comfortable with dogs, as we have a large mongrel who can be a bit over enthusiastic for a fuss with visitors to the house. I'm aware not everyone likes dogs especially large ones who still have the mindset of their youth and forget they are too big to sit on someones lap. |

I have two collies. Anyone who comes to the house is asked if they are ok with dogs. If they are nervous or not happy to have dogs around I put them in another room...
Seems to me to simply being polite and welcoming...
Not sure I get what the problem is...but then I have dogs |

It's not strange at all.
I'm not impressed when I go on a meet and the dog hasn't been mentioned to me previous.
Not saying people are obligated to but they should be aware that some people are genuinely scared of dogs so it will cause a problem if there's one there |

I used to have a border collie when I was growing up, the way she reacted to the doorbell of knock at the door used to scare the postman. So I would so I would definately ask, if someone was ok with dogs. |

Oh ok, so you'd happily walk through the shadow of the valley of death that is my house when I don't warn you of my not so friendly 48 kg German Shepherd then.
That's good, I'll pop the kettle on :D |
