Not all but most verifications on single girls and couples profiles end with ‘ be respectful with this lady’ or ‘ treat her with respect ‘

We don't have none of that on ours. I don't need random strangers pointing out the obvious/making hollow veiled threats on my behalf.
If someone wasn't treating me decent, they wouldn't be meeting us, full stop.
Smacks of desperate to me and I won't meet desperate people, in our experience they turn stalkery or make a pain in the ass of themselves. |

It’s such an obvious given that we wouldn’t let anybody that showed even a sign of disrespect into our relationship, that it almost doesn’t even deserve mentioning.
It’s strange how it’s taken off as such a buzz phrase on here, what circles are people playing in if telling people to respect each other seems warranted. |

Didn’t see it as that but you’re right. Got to watch out for these keyboard warriors haven’t we.
It does come across as somewhat paternal doesn’t it. Maybe there’s some deep set psychological motivations at work here |

Does it matter?
Sometimes people just don't know what to write. It's on a few of mine. I never read into it.
It's just like, have a nice day, time etc. It's a comment nothing else. |

It’s likely evolved as something people say as a curtesy because they heard the stories from women that there’s more than a few guys on here that are complete arses and treat women no better than a walking fanny or free prostitute
Not quite sure why it winds people up so much and more often than not these are the people that insist they’re laid back in their profile

No one has ever felt the need to say that about me. Maybe its ubiquity is that some people just want to say something nice but lack literary inspiration in the post-coital haze and revert to platitudes. Or maybe they're taking the piss since verifications are quite a weird thing to write when you think about it. |

Agree on the piss take. I know I've said on veri's "treat them with respect" and people have said the same on mine... but as a piss take. |
