Opposing perceptions

Their perception - We've been described once or twice as social butterflies when at events because we'll approach and chat with all there, 'working the room' so to speak.

Our perception - We don't really fit in anywhere so we keep moving around.

Have you got any personal examples of opposing perceptions? We'd like to hear them

Occcasionally I will sit in on a conversation and contribute very little. Those people perceive that I am either shy or have nothing to contribute.

My perception is that they are talking absolute rubbish and I keep my mouth shut for fear of revealing that I think they are massive fools.
