I'm not an IT expert but im sure that when in wifi, if the company want to know they'll be able to search what sites you visited and for how long.

It's actually a legal requirement for publicly shared WiFi. |

It depends what type of network monitoring they have in place. If it's a small business with simple router/network it's probably unlikely they will know the sites you look at.
If it's a bigger company or have managed IT it's possible sites and traffic will be monitored and logged. There are various ways to do that and also various ways to circumvent it if you needed to (VPN would be easiest).
It's worth noting that your employer should make it clear if electronic communications are being intercepted/monitored. It will normally be in the IT policy book or employee manual. If they dont it can leave them in hit water with the information commissioner.

I work in a school and although it is me who runs the WiFi, I still wouldn't be daft enough to use it for looking at anything of an "adult" nature.
