Obviously the latest on my profile was the last rope tie I did for NYE but I’m looking forward to the next one. I had quite a break last year in technical tying so I’m going to a TK Bootcamp soon. While I’m happy with my 2TK, I’m rusty on the 3rd. I need to get back to suspensions as that makes me happy

I've not been suspended yet but I have seen others experiencing it and afterwards the look on their faces was mesmerising. They looked so content and zoned out. It is definitely something I am hoping to try in the near future.

Spacing while suspended is great but can also very quickly go the other way! Don't forget your Medical shears to get out of the rope quickly if needed.

In our D/s relationship YES there is a massive differance. I will share my partner in the swinging world, but won't share him when he's in full Dom mode. Saying that we have a sub slave lesbain plaything who we play with. There are rules and boundries within this play. Although her being a lesbain she won't play with him. So he instructs how us girls play together

Interesting dynamic you have there!

I didn’t find my shears quick enough when tested if I had an emergency. Maybe the quality wasn’t good enough but now I always have a line cutter attached to me for quick access

Question for other riggers - do you have shears or line cutters and have you actually used them to test how effectively and quickly you can get someone out/down?

I’d had mine a few months but not tested them (because who wants to damage our beautiful rope eh??!!) and it wasn’t until I went on a workshop where they made you test them where I found mine weren’t good enough. Glad it wasn’t a real emergency when I found that out!

I'll be honest now. And this actually put me out of action for a month or so.

I was at a private party and knew a bunny there. There was a suspension point at the party and I asked her if she wanted to play. She said yes and I had a TK on and was lifting her lower body up when she just went pale and spaced out totally. She hadn't been drinking but hadn't eaten that day and in error I hadn't asked. I always to that point and today carry a set of large decent med shears in my waist line when tying and yes they worked. I had 40 metres of hemp cut to ribbions in under a minute and then friends assisted bringing her back down to earth. I was a bit shell shocked and went home soon after. Took me about 6 months to pick rope up again.

I love Sir's belt and tie. It means I'm in big trouble

Feels more personal to me using them rather than ropes or cuffs, slightly more limiting but I find it does the job

Always carry medical shears and I wouldn't consider myself a rigger. We don't get much freedom with kids in bed so it's easier using leather cuffs and clips just incase. However I do use rope for some basic stuff and I always get paranoid about others that use rope/ties and don't have them so I carry them lol.

Yes I can imagine the affect on you. I don’t think people realise the responsibility to do rope properly. She should also have told you too though.

I had a bad experience with a bunny not being honest with me, told me something massive and critical about her health 5 mins before walking into a suspension weekend workshop. And then had the nerve to say afterwards I seemed a bit nervous compared to normal!! Damn right I was nervous I’m responsible for her wellbeing. As she later told me she was ignoring Hospital advice it brought an end to our roping. I can’t rope someone who won’t be honest about their health. It puts us both in danger.

Mine is a mix of informal in person stuff, I’ve paid for rope experts to teach me one on one, peer rope groups, formal workshops and classes with rope experts.

I got caught off guard which hardly ever happens.

Swinging was never a problem at all and we have moved on now considerably but there was a time that when I allowed the Dom out to play the submissive green eyed monster went into overdrive.

Jesus Christ pissed off submissive was not the word and I was only talking! As soon as she sensed another submissive responding to me it was heckles up and ears back time.

Much discussion followed and we are in a different place now having since found the middle ground.

We never got to meet at the pandora social but I think you left early. I don’t formally mentor but happy to help where I can and I guess it depends what area you want to focus on. Feel free to come to an event I post up and watch and we can discuss what happened etc afterwards. Peer rope is informal so that won’t help you but Pandora will be an extreme session so if that’s an area you’re interested in come down then. Feel free to PM me too

Good question. I’m greedy, I’m both! Many people are very surprised when they find out I’m switch. I never switch with the same person though. Me as a Domme and as a sub are very different things so I keep them separate. I play at the polar opposites, at this extremes with not much in the middle.

I've always been different from very early teenage years and never could workout what it was, back then certainly not in a physical way but mentally and the way I carried myself, things like the unofficial leader, the person always nominated to be the spokes person, the person people confide in, the person the kids came to to sort their issues out, the person asked to be a witness for others, the person people turn to when the shit hits the fan, the individual that isnt bothered about being the individual. It was only later in life that I worked it out and was able to identify with the Dominant role and I started showing interest in the more physical aspects of the role.

Great question!! For me there was always "something" there going back to a very early age, but I was never able to identify it as anything particular until about 20 years ago at the dawning of the internet - up until that point D/s had been the "whips, chains and kinky stuff" that was sniggered about in the tabloids - however something I stumbled across back then started me off on a journey of discovery and realisation.

The more I read and learned, the more I could identify with my submissive side and relate it back to that "something" I had always known was there.

It's not an all consuming, over riding thing for me, nor is it anything I actively seek (for various reasons which I am totally comfortable with) but wouldn't rule exploring further out in the right circumstances. As a result my experience is limited, although my knowledge is enough that I like to think I can add to threads such as this with a degree of confidence.

As a switch, there were times in my younger days when I had feelings of submissiveness and of dominance.

Fantasies were generally with some degree of kink involved and generally this was with me as s. I knew that I was drawn to my submissive side much more but occasionally I loved to turn the tables, the feeling of needing to switch being overwhelming.

I would like to expand on this a little further. We both switch and although we have preference to which we are suited it is so liberating not just being defined to one role. It allows us to grow and explore together, I have found that I can talk to PNG about anything without any fear of judgement this also helps in our day to day relationship there is an openness with each other that is truly liberating

TBH I've never used a modern one but talking to people that have the old ones are more powerful and stand up to heavy use better. Personally I think they help add to the scene as they look more like an instrument of torture than a toy.

Depends on whether they have been returned and if so by who. An old one bought at a car boot is likely to have knackered coil windings and frankly be dangerous.

A properly refurbed one will have significantly higher output compared to most modern cosmetic use ones. The other advantage to old kits is they come with a wider range of electrodes. Though personally I prefer using myself as the contact, it enables far finer sensation control and creativity of sensation.

I agree with the above about vintage being stronger. I think they are of better quality too, but that’s just my opinion.

I got mine from Bound2tease, very knolageble and helpful. Everything is reconditioned to a very high standard, I couldn’t be happier with my set. I have also heard, but not personally experienced, that painfulpleasures do a good set.

I've always thought that there is a very strong crossover between BDSM and swinging but the BDSM 'Scene' do tend to look down their noses at swingers.

I remember the parties at Ceasars Nightclub in Balsall Common, there was a very definite divide. One of the issues I saw was the one of consent with a lot of the swingers not understanding the concept of power exchange. Then there were the purist BDSM'ers who'd insist that BDSM wasn't about sex, mind you that didn't stop them instructing a sub to suck their cock and even sharing subs.

It used to be a great weekend away. Ceasars Friday night followed by the Midlands (BDSM) munch Saturday afternoon and the BBB Sunday.

I think the issue of consent is a big one between the kink and swing scene.

I've never been touched without being asked first at a kink/fetish club. Never. Not once.

But I've been touched quite a few times by swingers while doing kink at swing clubs. Several times when I've been tied up and unable to do anything about it.

I'm not saying that there aren't bad eggs in the kink scene, but there seems to be less casual non-consensual touching at club nights.

I know lots of people who look down on the swing scene because of the gendered pricing for clubs too - which I personally think is a massive issue.

Consent is such a big issue. I’ve been touched so many times in swinging clubs but hardly ever on fetish nights in swinging clubs and never at BDSM only event. Some people (and I stress only some) who crossover BDSM and swinging also aren’t always on point with understanding consent or that safewords are sacrosanct so I’m hoping threads like this will help that. For my switch side while I don’t necessarily need someone experienced, I do need someone who’ll respect basic SSC.

I understand what you are saying about touching at kink clubs. From memory most of the complaints were about 'wanky men' i.e. men watching a scene and wanking. Personally it never bothered me as long as they didn't interrupt or get too close.

What I meant about swingers not understanding is that they didn't see the concept of gaining consent from the top rather than the bottom.

Not sure what you mean by that. I find at swing clubs people always ask the man if they can play with the woman. I find in the kink scene the person always asks the person they want to play with, or asks if there is any protocol if they believe there might be.

I find generally there are more men than women at most kink events. But I also know alot of women who are happy to attend kink events but not swing events because they don't like the 'reassuringly expensive' feeling that alot of blokes get from paying more. Too often blokes assume that because they paid more they deserve more.
